New Race / Class Combinations That Make Sense!

Lightforged rogues. 1000+ years of a cloak and dagger war and no stealth units? What? Don’t give the strawman of hooves, the Eredar of the burning legion made efficient use of them.

Think of Lightforged rogues as the Spanish Inquisition.

Vulpera Paladins.

Because I want one.

Dranei Rogues have been a thing since BC, they are the broken version though, of course it would be cool if we got broken dranei as a customization option in shadowlands with all of the new customization and have rogues come along with. Also Darkspear Paladins

Very much this. I would have liked to see them be Elune Justice incarnate post Teldrassil would have been a good time to add them ugh

I can definitely see an arguement for Worgen Paladins. Gilneas was a human nation that follows the same Holy Light religion that the other human kingdoms follow. It’s plausable that Gilneas had a few Paladins in their military before the Worgen infected everyone.

…Unless all the pallys bubble hearthed out before they got bit

Tauren Rogues

I support this just because how comically hilarious I find it.

“Come brother, we must sneak past these guards…” Activate stealth mode

Stomp stomp stomp stomp, potentially crash through the tiny wooden planks

Many good choices here. I’d like to add Human Shaman. I know one in real life. Agree with Nelf and KT Pallies, LFD Monk, HMT Warlock, Zandalari Warlock, Panda Druid, Goblin Monk, Worgen Monk and Undead Shaman. I’d like Tauren Rogue too, if they can find a way to make it work. Maybe even Mechagnome Druid just for the transformer aspect.

The Dire world shaking conflicts of both Legion and BFA, its makes complete sense to open up the new class/race combos. The races and force would want to explore new paths to fight the threats.

Orc Paladin
-Nelf Shaman
-Draenie Druid
-Panderen Druid
-Zand. Troll warlock, due to their own Demonaic and from Zul bringing in other tribes
-Worgen Monk
-Goblin Monk
-Orc Druid
-Tauren Rogue
-Lightforged Monk
-Nightborne, Orc, Draenei, V. Elf Demon Hunter
-Nelf Paladins
-KT Pallys

I think the issue is that, canonically, Paladins are immune to all forms of pestilence. Be it the common cold, the undead plague, or lycanthropy.

Does it matter if they make sense anymore? A lot of things in this game don’t make sense now.

Personally I’d love to see nightborne druids, and maybe paladins.

From the wow blood elf page:
Inspired by the Sunwell’s rebirth, the blood elves have since entered into a shining new era in their ancient race’s history. Although some elves remain hesitant to abandon their dependence on arcane magic, others have embraced change for the betterment of Quel’Thalas.

It’s the embracing change part that leads me to believe they could be looking to their past, before splitting with the night elves, to rediscover druidism. Or find a wild god/Loa that could grant them these new powers. It would lend a lot to embracing nature to fight undeath and finally fix the tainted scar in Eversong, Isle of Quel’danas, and the Ghostlands.

I personally think shadowlands is going to open all core races ( from original and expansions), to all classes, 15 years is given a lot of time for them to finally dab into cultures and magic to help them.

During times of war realistically you want to gain an edge any way possible, knowledge does help, have a greater understanding of what you’re against, we’ve been fighting along side races that do amazing things.

I do think it’s time we get Night Elf/ Undead Paladins, Tauren Mages and Draenei Rogues, Gnome Druids etc.

We’ve learnt time and time again that those willing can be taught through NPCs friends and Foes.

Shadowlands seems to be the “Customisation” expansion, plus Warcraft Lore we are no normal citizen in WoW, were the hero, the one who is different, returning from death, killing titans, defeating the burning legion and old gods.

I think it really makes sense core races have been exposed to other classes long enough to be taught new classes.

Allied Races I understand being locked to some as they are all new some culturally may still be scared to dabble into different cultures and schools of magic.

Just my 2 cents.

I was under the impression that Blood Elves have no Druidic roots. And that their very foundation was in rebellion of Druidism.

Mm I’d say their foundation of their exile was being told they couldn’t practice any kind of arcane magic as the Night Elves outlawed it and the punishment was death. It was retconned that the warding stones around Eversong are now arcane, they were druidic initially. I don’t believe all the High Elves that left were only arcane practitioners. But considering we start WoW after 90% of the Blood Elves had been slaughtered by Arthas and the scourge. So their druidic sect could’ve been wiped out, what small amount of them remained.

The title claims race/class combos that make sense, but not one of those suggested in here aside from maybe night elf paladin make any sense whatsoever.

Eh. More Rogues makes sense. If anyone can stab, anyone can sneak.

Orc and Draenei Demon Hunters make sense in that non-Elf Demon Hunters were established previously and we know that Orc and Draenei were within the ranks of the Illidari. Hell, they make more sense than Night Elf Illidari Demon Hunters given that Illidan had isolated himself in Outland and the only other Night Elves that were there with him were his jailers.

Highmountain and Zandalari Warlocks both have precedent - just as much as Orc Warlocks and Zandalari Paladins do.

The calls for Paladin and Druid, however… I don’t see much precedent existing. Any new Druid races would be Druids-but-not-really like Kul Tiran and Zandalari. Likewise for Paladins, aside from Night Elves.

But yeah, I general, I see wants here. But I’m more interested to see what hints have been dropped. And it seems like not many have.

NE Paladins I can think off that actually does make sense.

NE Paladins make a lot of sense, the priestesses are already a warrior variety, so it’s not much of a leap.
Give them silvery Elune themed spells, then open that up to Gilnean Worgen paladins as well. Werewolf paladins for a moon deity sounds awesome.

Then if we got Night Elven Worgen, make it an option for them as well.

Order of the Silver Hand gets a new sister sect, Order of the Silver Moon.

Illidan tried to make orc demon hunters, they couldn’t handle the ritual. Draenei don’t strike me as the cannibalism type. As for night elves, have you actually taken the time to read the lore? The night elves that became demon hunters are those who followed Illidan/were recruited by him.

Illidan was also very xenophobic. It’s very unlikely he’d share his secrets with races he didn’t like.

Warlock goes against the culture of the highmountain Tauren and given how we killed the tribe that was willing to work with fel magic, it doesn’t make sense for any of the remaining tribes to ever consider it. The same goes for the tribe of Zandalari that the player comes from.

The whole curse thing is kind of a big hurdle for becoming a paladin, and no being able to be a priest isn’t the same thing.

The fact that there are now Lightforged Draenei death knights now means lore is dead. They should just go through and create animations for every class on every race and release them as they are finished.

Ready to race change to gnome druid and vulpera druid.
