New PVP update on ERA coming aug 23

So, in other words, wherever you are on the week of august 15th is where you will start off at on Aug 23rd.

If this were true then why would they say this

If you’re about to start ranking a character, you may not have enough time to hit Rank 14 before the patch arrives and your progress is lost.

Notice they said ‘start’ ranking. If ranks weren’t wiped with the new system you could totally start ranking just fine until the 15th of aug.
