I immediately thought of this
Bury yourself before the enemy gets their chance to do it!
Ahh yeah. For some reason I was thinking about Stone Bulwark Totem.
Oh man I had gotten about that “totem”.
They should have just called it “stone bulwark” because the totem actually did nothing because it only applied to caster …
Last I saw, Touch of Karma is getting buffed, from 70% current to 110% in 10.1
Second most merc’d totem if people have their heads on swivels. Thank goodness folks keep those blinders on.
Wondering if there’s a very strong visual associated with it. Does the shaman kick up dust like Pigpen, dig like Bugs Bunny, or submerge like Ragnaros? Considering how prolific Dark Irons are in PvP at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if the character jumped into a half buried Mole Machine skimming just below the surface of the earth.
Ice block- mage can’t dps
Turtle- hunter can’t dps
Dispersion - shadow priest can’t dps
Shaman isn’t alone.
edit: messed up an ability name
Evasion isn’t a shadowpriest ability.
It’s dispersion.
Ice block and Dispersion can be used while stunned or silenced.
Turtle cannot be cast while stunned and is the best comparison.
Furthermore, all of those you’ve pointed out aside from Survival, will use the ability to kite because the comparisons are 8 ranged specs (holy, disc, shadow, fire, arcane, frost, marksmen, Beast Mastery) and 1 melee spec (Survival).
Mages use ice block to and then blink out of it to get range. Dispersion increases your movement speed so you can get away. Even turtle allows you to use traps, exhilaration heal, pet abilities (not sure about intimidation), and I believe disengage…so its not a 1to 1 comparison as Survival (the melee equivalent) will be able to trap you in place if they want to keep you from moving anywhere during their immunity.
These are good points, but my reply was just to touch on the one point the person I replied to brought up: the inability to dps while in your defensive.
good catch on evasion. I play shadow priest and apparently need more sleep.
Also, these are all baseline or regular abilities/talents.
Only shaman has to give up a much needed pvp talent and so of course has a bigger opportunity cost for taking this ability and it obviously can’t be used in PVE like turtle, ice block , dispersion and nearly every other defensive can.
And those abilities can be used while stunned. This new pvp ability cant
Ok. See my post above. I was making a specific point.
The doom and gloom where every poster thinks blizzard hates insert their favorite class and should just delete insert favorite class never gets old. Shaman gets a long awaited defensive and many of these posts is the response. Not saying improvements can’t be made, but God Lord the amount of bad faith posting is horrible.
I get that it’s not equivalent, and it’s not perfectly aligned with the popular requests. Heck, I think enhance in PvP isn’t even going to benefit from it greatly. But it seems good and it’s much more than a simple first step.
I think it’s more akin to the brief period of “Unattack-ability” that Priests with the PvP Fade Talent from BFA (?) mixed with Dispersion more so than say Hunter’s Turtle. It’s a short duration reprieve, but it’s distinctly different.
It’s probably has to contend with Restoration’s potential usage, right? Set up a bunch of totems, dig a hole, Healing Tide and Cloudburst, and then bam potentially a disruption on the opposing team’s healer that starts a chain of CC. It’s not the only scenario, but it’s a fairly strong possibility. That disruption while only a possibility is one that is hybridized into this defensive.
Never wanted that never said we wanted that hell we said we wanted Shamanistic rage back. A defensive that could be used in a stun. And yet they give us this burrow ability and wait for it…It can not be used in a stun. Why can they not just return Shamanistic Rage. It is the defensive many of us have asked for just reduced inc damage and can be used in a stun.
This is another issue all of those abilities as stated are baseline and we have to give up a pvp talent for this garbage that cant be used in a stun.
Again this isn’t what we wanted we just wanted something that could be used in a stun. How hard is that. Ohh they want Shamanistic rage back nooo lets give them a immunity that cant be used while stunned and make it a pvp only ability. Again we didn’t ask for much just something that can be used in a stun.
And you’re response of
Is pathetic.
Just give us what we had asked for something that can be used while stunned. And history warlocks are the most vocal about getting the changes they want because they make noise when changes come to their class that they do not want. Shamans will need to start doing more of this. Actually all the other classes should.
This will definitely drop flags in pvp. Damn I like to FC as Rsham sometimes. Stuff like kotmogu orbs as well.
I wonder how many shamans are going to mess these up when playing around with the new pvp talent.
I have but one question not listed:
Can I get a glyph that makes it look like I’m digging my way into the ground?
I get that having something being able to be used while stunned would be better. But would you rather this - something that could still be tweaked to be used while stunned, or an indefinite number of patch cycles with absolutely nothing?
Can this be used to get out of Spear?
Nope. I just tested it. Spear hits and keeps pulling you back even while you’re underground.
Also targeted CC cannot be used against a Shaman in Burrow, it won’t even fire - stuff like Stormbolt and DK Grip. AoE CC worked, Priest Fear and Cap Totem.
While you can’t be the target of Intimidating Shout you will most likely still be affected by the flee (I wasn’t able to test).
And I will repeat we asked for Shamanistic rage to be returned why are they not doing this. Or a defensive that can be used while stunned. This is what we asked for and they keep trying to make new spells and abilities but not address the issue of not being able to use it while stunned.
Why is this such a hard concept for them to understand. And also considering this is a pvp defensive So we have to give up one of our pvp talents for this. Instead of it being baseline like other classes. Again I do not know why they seem to want Shamans to suffer in pvp.
Someone has to be the “focus target” who better then enhancement.
Were here to uplift the rest of the pvp community
