Developers’ note: Going into Season 2, we took a look at honor and conquest distribution to have a better balance between acquisition for the currencies in different rated content. In today’s PTR build, you may notice that redistribution, with honor and conquest gains being slightly less for Rated Solo Shuffle and higher in grouped Rated PvP content (2v2, 3v3, and Rated Battlegrounds.
you have like 8 seconds to react to the damage aint no1 going 60-0 in 1.3 by a fire mage this expansion.
Maybe next expansion they will bring it back meta. Psure were getting the arcane treatment while they make frost the go to PVP meta spec for mages again
You aren’t convinced because you are misunderstanding the math behind a 25% crit dmg nerf.
Let’s say you do 100 dmg with a spell, your crit would currently do 175 dmg. Now let’s say the base dmg does 112 (12% buff) your crit will now do 168 which is a 4% difference. The reason is because the crit nerf overall is not a 25% dmg nerf, but instead a 15.6% loss of dmg. Now, you may be wondering why you are still doing less dmg and that’s because they want to reduce the overall dmg during burst windows.
Although, oddly enough shaman lavaburst is getting a 20% buff so even with the crit nerf, lava burst will be doing more damage than it does on live.
So 14% nerf to damage when critting, not 25%, with a 12% damage buff to compensate. If anything that 12% damage buff might be to much because it also effects sustain damage and not crit exclusively.
Seems fine as the objective of the crit changes is to slow down the pace of PvP, and make RNG crits more reasonable.
Destro’s abilities all got buffed because chaos bolt is heavily dependant on crit damage, less crit damage means less damage from chaos bolt, so they buffed everything else a little bit
