New players are not welcome in this game

To paraquote Ion “If you want a better service then the Private servers are there for you” :^)

I have disco kitty… Werebear… DH flames… The ones I wanted. Stop assuming… You are making yourself look bad.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but the original mage tower was unique in that it was the first solo-type challenge which offered a prestigious time-limited reward. Several people don’t like that (largely ones that didn’t get it for the most part) - some people don’t care, and others do care about it.

I think they should offer more solo challenges like that - more opportunities to get distinctive items and yes, time-locked. It gives incentive, goals - something to strive for and a real sense of accomplishment when you get it.

Most people I see contradict themselves on the issue of time-locked rewards, they are fine with AoTC or Glad - but want to target and eliminate that privilege over the MT - why? Out of principle? Hardly, then they would want it all unlocked (and granted some say so). No, it’s simple greed - they see something and covet it and realise they can’t get it and that’s what’s making them so upset. Because those pixels are important to them - but if they are important to the holder, well they’re chastised for valuing the same pixels.

It’s so transparent - but I agree with folks that the looks were so unique that ok, let people try for recolours of them in the new tower. I then get something new and cool to shoot for, and people that didn’t get that unique form originally can try.

But sit there and say all time-limited items (or just all MT’esque types, the only solo challenge thus far introduced) be targeted for destruction is, in my view, absurd.

You know the score, know the rules, just play the bloody game.

I think they should have taken the mage tower and bring it to every expansion and just scale it to current content.

No need for this FOMO poop they are putting on.

Fine, but not with the original rewards, they were advertised as time-locked and so they shall stay. I also don’t want the same challenge over and over, I’d like new challenges along that formula.

Like I said, recolours of the originals are good rewards. Who knows, maybe they will even do it.

You all use the pejorative of FoMo to label it - but it is simply an opportunity to earn something unique and time-locked during an expansion and I don’t think they have to stop doing that or marketing such items - I like it, plenty of people like it - and it motivates people to play and earn whatever it is.

Since they released the werebear, I think it would have been a fair move to release at least one new and different color tint for each class so it gives everyone an incentive to go do it.
That way, everyone who got the OG skins can still have it, and everyone (including them) can obtain something unique as well.

holy crap how many times does it need to be said that it devalues the efforts other players put in? like blizzard said it themselves, you guys need to just get over it.

if you dont want exclusive rewards anymore, ask for new ones to be permanent rather than asking for things that were promised and said to be limited.

gl with that though, there will always be elite sets.

I think a lot of people aren’t gonna agree with the even if it’s harder part. The cries for nerfs would be loud from a lot of folks.

I agree with this, there’s also nothing wrong with asking for better… the original artifact appearances are beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but there can always be new class appearances and better alternatives as future rewards for different challenging content. I think there are enough copy/paste things in the game as is, I’d love to see some creativity come out with future weapons/tmog that’s just as amazing as og artwork.

I can’t imagine being so selfish of a person to think this when:
1 - When I got all the appearances across multiple characters, it was at the end of Legion when the challenge was a joke. So not sure what sense of “value” anyone can really put on it when it was a breeze, especially when you consider:

2 - they’re scaling the challenges so that they’re still challenging and players still have to EARN the rewards. I think they’ll be harder this time around than at the end of Legion, so kudos to having players earn the rewards.

3 - It changes literally nothing about your gameplay. It’s a purely subjective “benefit” created from the foundation of others being deprived of even the opportunity to EARN rewards…in a video game. Ugh, I’d hate to be the kind of person that actually derives benefit from pushing others down in a purely recreational setting.

I have said it in the other thread and I will say it again here. Either the game has limited time exclusive items or it does not. Either option is fair and equitable to the entire player base.

HOWEVER, There is no fair middle ground where JUST Mage tower appearances come back. If they come back that is fine as long as all the other limited time stuff comes back at the same time or soon after. I mean all of it too. Hell even the tcg items.

Cherry picking what you think should be limited and what should come back just because you want it and don’t have it is the epitome of being childish and entitled. Grow up.

Make sure you delete your Bananas in protest.

While written in sarcasm, these are good examples why they should be obtainable. Not everyone cares for a Spectral Tiger mount (which, in all honesty, look awful nowadays) but for some people it will have an emotional value.

Put it on the store. Win-Win situation for everyone.

It is FOMO.
And the removal of the single good content that WoW had in recent years was a very stupid move in the first place.

And now the return of it is causing such a huge drama, but it is as I say, the WoW playerbase wouldn’t know what a good video game is, even if it bit them in the butt.

those causing the most drama aren’t interested in the return of good content, they are only interested in the rewards - human nature I guess.
