I am a newish player, but i played vanilla WoW when i was 13 for a solid 2 months. I resubbed because i was wanting to get back into my MMO mindset.( ready for anything, grind with a purpose, and above all else make friends.)) Upon returning to the community I dont even recognize it. I was broke as a teen, and i couldnt afford a sub, so as an adult i was super excited to play what i grew up watching religiously. I stated i was new and was berated in a low level dungeon while trying to get my reigns for the game. Again, I reiterated that I was a new player. I was cussed out and told that WoW didnt need new players and i should just sell my PC, so to the actual good people out there who play this game, I wish I couldve been matched with you because this is a bad taste, and I since unsubbed. Super disappointed.

There’s no where in the World immune to bad people. You will experience them everywhere, every game, every platform. However, there may be one bad person for every 200, or 2000 great people.
You just have to ignore the bad, pity them.
Don’t let that be the reason you give up on your dream of WoW. For the most part, the people here are great.
But have fun wherever you go.

Nah man wasnt just one. It was the entire dungeon. I am finishing my sub month, but im just gonna solo and quest. No one ever wants to break off and help newbies either. It’s fine, im not mad, harborimg ill will, or complaining. Just wanted Xanthan to have a proper goodbye to the community. LOVE Rp if you cant tell by the last sentence.

I’ve been in probably thousands of groups. I can only think of a dozen or so that were bad enough to be memorable.
I won’t try further to convince you otherwise, but I think you’re overreacting to a single poor experience.
My advice would be to go again.

It is easy… It happened because you play toxic Alliance, look at this forum, 4 of 5 Alliance players are toxic and whine (Either because of Vulpera, Mechagnome, or Hong Kong)… Nothing like that would happen if you play Horde.
So, make HORDE character and add me, and we will be friends. CHEERS

This. I have been playing this game for around thirteen years and I can count on one hand the bad experiences. I have met some great, fun, helpful people in this game over the years. The good far outweighs the bad by miles.

Haha. If I havent made a memorable effect by the time my 1 day remaining pops up, i will gladly give you all my gold and full inventory of armor and items. I wouldnt mind that at all, man. I have around 5k gold and a few artifacts I am hording. When the day comes I got you.
Eh don’t worry about those type of players. Sadly that’s all left of this community unless you join a guild that can be positive. It’s the era of these players plus whatever social media influence them to act like fools on purpose than be helpful like some other mmorpgs communities. Solo play is fine too since it took me awhile to join a guild myself after being upset with a guild that were a bunch of try hards saying I was the problem ignoring I was the mostly always last to die in raids.
Enjoy what you can out of it I guess and find something new. If you do ever return just get those guards up so it won’t make your overly disappointed.

That is the Cycle of Newb. The options are to either give up, or keep rolling that wheel until you don’t fail. Except that never happens, everyone always fails (at varying levels of failure) until the day comes that they become part of the singularity that is perfection at the heat death of the universe.

There are just as many trolls horde side as there are alliance side.
OP, a handful of dungeon groups don’t represent the playerbase. Most dungeon groups I join, when pugging, have been more than accommodating towards players needing to do quests or help out newer players. Just gotta ask and be open to advise.

If you jumped into dungeons on your 110 boost I can see where some people could be rude, some don’t like boosted toons that don’t know their class.
My suggestions are to either find a nice guild that is willing to help newbies, find someone to quest and dungeon with or roll a level 1 and play it up to around level 50 to get a good idea of how to play the class.
You could give me a holler in game, I am always willing to try to help people.

Seeing the comradery here and support honestly makes me feel like I could’ve just gotten a few bad eggs. I will attempt again tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well. I am and always have been in love with the lore of this game. I just feel defective or like i shouldve chosen warrior.
