Yeah I mean it’s definitely not this binary, but stat priority never is.
Either way that dude is high if he thinks our mastery is the best in the game, but given that he went awol after this comment I’m guessing it was a troll.

I agree. Don’t think the shards are engaging. They could just get really lazy and give us MM hunter mastery lol. More range and damage
I like our mastery. The frontloaded damage is fun. Getting 600k+ eternity surge is hilarious.
I’m probably in the minority on this one but; I also like that we’re actually capable of pulling aggro. Reminds me of my arcane mage. Like you’re so powerful you have to be careful. Of course any geared tank who knows what they’re doing will never let you pull aggro but still. It’s fun to feel powerful
This is basically gone in tww anyways, thankfully.
I’d rather be getting them in execute phases than at the beginning of a fight, this damage profile isn’t advantageous in difficult content.
It’s nice for padding on add spawns/deleting prio spawns but that’s rarely an advantage in fight design.
It’s especially lackluster since you’ll usually be using dragonrage on pull anyways so the mobs HP is irrelevant if your cd innately gives you full mastery value. The window of health we get the most value is overwritten by our cd; that’s poor design.
This would still happen if you switch mastery to an execute. You’d be using dragon rage on CD and it would lose value the closer a boss was to dying.
Either way it has a disadvantage
Ummm, it wouldn’t though?
If our mastery had more value at the end of the boss’s hp and thus we had less damage at the start, you literally get more value or of dragonrage on the pull full stop.
Especially considering that you’re generally lusting for the duration of your dragonrage on pull.
It would lose value at the very end of a boss fight if used at like the literal end of the fight, sure, but that is highly contingent on kill times and still inherently stronger overall than it is now.
My suggestion was to have it scale down to 50% and then back up until the boss dies (think hourglass shape).
