This is typical blizzard behaviour.
Let’s take something that is simple and that works, and let’s just mess it up altogether.
Currently rio is very simple. Your highest run for each timed dungeon gives you 10 points. I can look at someone with an 800 io, and easily know that their average timed dungeons are +10. It’s simple and it works.
Then along comes blizzard dev. Ah hah! Thinks the dev. This seems popular, and I have lots of very good ideas to expand upon and improve this simple idea.
Give it 10 minutes, and they come up with a system so convoluted we’re going to need another add on to figure it all out. Highest dungeon gives some points, plus 30% for highest non tyrannical, bla bla bla.
Now you look at someone’s score and it’s meaningless unless you compare it to other peoples scores. They could be timing 24s, they could be doing 15s, the only way to know is to check their history. Rubbish.
And of course it is now going to take twice as long to get KSM, and as ever, if you don’t havr ksm already, good licking getting into 15s - that period of having all 14s is going to last twice as long.
Good luck out there puggers!

If I was a betting panda,I’d wager that most everyone is going to stick with rio.Seeing as how its a known factor.

I like rio, I hope they stick around and remain useful
Probably why players will continue to use RIO even when season 2 starts. Blizzards system will collect dust and only be used for KSM achievement.

Nothing is changing with the scoring.
You can look at someone with a 1200io score and know they’re doing 15s just fine.
The only thing that changes is they upped the requirements for KSM.
Want to just do easier content? Then you have to do more easy content. Or do a little of everything.

Fixed it for you. Maybe even +1400 to be safer from paid carries.
I think RIO score is more complex than that…I’ve timed all 15’s and a 16 or 2 and am 1300. An ex guildie who sometimes comes with us does 17’s and is like 1500 almost. Definitely seems WAY more skewed in favor of higher dungeons.

It is. The higher the dungeon the higher the base score.
The more time left on the clock, even more points.
Except that isn’t how it works.

You already see it deviate from what you’d expect. You say a score of 800 reflects all 10s cleared, so a score of 1600 should reflect all 20s cleared, and yet that’s not true at all. You kind of just need to know the rating break-downs, or more realistically look at the key breakdown.
The Blizzard scoring actually is quite different from RIO’s current method. Up until +11, RIO awards 10 x key-level, which is very simple (it starts growing exponentially from +12 to +30). Blizzard’s score likely has some constant multiplied by key-level, but there’s a twist in that Tyrannical and Fortified are scored separately and the sum makes up your total Blizzard Mythic+ Score. It’s also not clear how Blizzard scores a dungeon that was slightly over-time (RIO drops off pretty precipitously, but if you miss a +10 by less than 1 min it can often improve your score over a best +9).
When I look on the PTR my test toon shows the info in the first two columns on the Mythic+ Dungeons tab of the LFD tool (I added a col for RIO score as it stands today):
| Dungeon |
Blizz Score |
RIO Score |
| +14 NW For |
180 |
146 |
| +13 ToP Tyr |
174 |
133 |
| +13 MoTS For |
172 |
133 |
| +13 HoA Tyr [1] |
165 |
121 |
| +11 SoA Tyr+For [2] |
212 |
110 |
| +10 DoS Tyr |
151 |
100 |
| PF No Score |
|
|
| SD No Score |
|
|
| [1] - in-game tool-tip shows the best was 31:13 (over-time) |
|
|
| [2] - in-game tool-tip shows Tyr was 44:47 (over-time) while For was timed |

Clearly the scoring has changed from what RIO does today and the change is significant and complicates what used to be easy (no longer just 10x key-level).
I’m thinking RIO will change their score to match Blizzard’s new method so that the two are comparable. People using RIO will likely continue to use it since Blizzard’s LFG tool-tip does not show the number of timed runs in a bracket, which is a much better experience indicator than the score alone. For the masses that didn’t use RIO, it will be like PvP score and hopefully helpful for manual match-making (apply/invite people near your own score).

Huh that’s interesting. Thanks for the chart! Looks like they’re drastically upping the base score. So it’ll essentially be easier to hit that 2k mark.
And while it’s easiest to get 15 on both Fort and Tyr, it’s not required, so you could mix and match and run higher on whatever setting you prefer and lower on the other

Oh i’m getting a headache with all of this mess ,the more complex they make it the more a person would rather run to the hills and start screaming. Geesh, can’t we have a simpler content .

Becoz Blizzard knows better than rio people. Most KSM from the past are fake… cheater. Got their KSM during non-Tyrannical weeks. KSM means Keystone Master… not cowards of Tyrnannical.
I’m sure they will, but that doesn’t change the fact that the achievements (and the valor upgrades) will be tied to Blizzards new system.
Can still buy your KSM in season 2
Go ahead. Carry me pls on Tyrannical. Let’s see.

It happens all the time. Sellers don’t magically disappear on tyrannical week

Yeah, Halls of Atonement and Mist +15 is easily doable. How about SD+15 and PF+15 Tyrannical? These would be bottlenecks like what’s happening on MDI tournament. Those carriers have different strategies to tackle them. But those coward KSM, they always disappear in Tyrannical weeks.
