There is no clear gearing path between Heroic and M0.
Heroics are insufficient in difficulty to prepare people for M0.
M0s are too difficult to be the Mythic entry point. (but I think this has a lot to do with 1 and players not being geared enough)
And as you can see from this thread (and the many others like it), the most common responses to these concerns are “git gud,” “you should be grateful for what you got,” or outright dismissal.
Veteran gear should be sufficient for m0. . . even halfway upgraded with whelpling crests, it meets the best gear of S3, albeit sans set bonus (unless you catalyse it, anyway).
I’m not really familiar with the heroic difficulty curve though. I have a priest who just reached 491, maybe I can find a like-geared group to give it a try.
let’s be fair, raiding is plenty braindead too. heroic raid, +8 keys, there’s no difference except that one is much more boring (imo) and takes longer. m+ is also no more likely to give you loot you actually want than raiding is, even if the quantities are admittedly higher!
I mean the loot drops, but it’s the same loot you would get from a +9 and if you’re doing keys that high you’re already much more geared. You might want a socket or some avoidance but none of the base items are worth anything to anyone.
I guess I don’t see what you’re getting at here. People pushing beyond reward levels aren’t doing it for the gear. Been this way since M+ was introduced
Then you’re going to need to either make the dungeons much much harder or make dungeons just default drop worse gear than raids like it was in WoD and before.
I doubt people want either of those things. They’re already complaining M0s are too hard.
