I think most PvP server players aren’t understanding how wild this is.
Imagine reading the announcement that there will be fresh servers, expecting there to be at least a PvP and PvE option, as has been tradition. However, 4 days before servers go live you find out its only going to be a PvE server. How would you feel getting forced onto a PvE server if you only play PvP servers?
This is actually a pretty historic move by blizzard.
Makes me think of that server EverQuest had for a while. Was like 30 or 40 dollars a month sub. They had events (was only so many that they just did over and over) and actual GM’s and enforced rules.
Lot of people played there… I did for a long time.
I would of played the PVE if it was the only fresh server. Fresh is more important to me than pvp or pve. Seriously, wanted fresh for almost over a year
AND just like that nobody talking about rdf they pulled a democrat on a Friday end of news cycle
The people trolling here don’t care. They would probably be trolling the PvP posters in that scenario.

Im in favor of this. Being only one should allow the server technology do the work of keeping zone population in check but as the tourist leave we still have a healthy population. I honestly thought they’d put out 3 and they’d shuffle out to all horde & alliance pve (but honestly there’s already two very good options right now why strip players away from those?) and one pvp. It being PVP has the best chance at keeping the factions balanced. Im pro pvp servers so this isn’t scary to me though. The only upsetting part is that they wait till the week before to tell people who are extremely against pvp servers and now they feel like they’ve missed out on time they could have been on a current server getting ready.

Any fresh server is better than the existing ones. But i’m not going to be blind to how impactful this change is to a lot of people who prefer a PvE only server option.

This is my plea for a PVE server.
Like many folks I have fond memories of playing WOTLK in my younger years, and I am eager to play again and enjoy the nostalgia and build a new community
We are in our 30’s and 40’s now.
We have jobs, kids, homes, obligations, and commitments.
We MAKE time for gaming because we love it.
We don’t have 4-6 hours (or more) of time daily to commit to this and a PVP server will do nothing but keep your casual elder millennial players out of the game
We can’t spend an hour getting killed over and over trying to get someplace that’s 10 minutes away when we only have an hour or two to play
We can’t be in front of my computer without interruption when kids have an emergency
A fresh PVE server allows for us to do what we love, play the game, get to the end game content, and raid with our friends without having to worry about a trashed market on PVE or being killed over and over on PVP.
Please, PLEASE understand that having only one fresh server and it being PVP leaves so many of us feeling heartbroken and afraid that we will not be able to enjoy and thrive in this game that is so close to our hearts and memories.
I’m shocked. I never thought I wouldn’t have a PvE server to play WoW. Been playing since 2005 - always had an Eastern (my personal preference) PvE server to choose from.
Not sure I will play Fresh now.

While I generally have a negative opinion on this kind of take, in this case, I completely agree. Give these people the PvE servers they want. Blizz, you will lose a massive portion of the WotLK playerbase if you do not give the option of a PvE server for folks like this. Come on.
edit: Or just make this one server PvE. I have no problems with this and I doubt most people would.
