I can understand the frustration in the lack of a PVE server.
However, I’m guessing Blizzard doesn’t want to open a new server that will be DoA. Traditionally, fresh private servers are predominantly PVP. The level playing field is the primary attraction to fresh realms. I’m going to roll on the fresh realm, but I fully expect there is a real chance it will be dead when WotLK goes live after people have had time to do the fresh WPVP thing.
I’m thrilled about a single PVP realm to ensure some semblance of faction balance, but Blizz could have communicated its reasons a little better.

To me, the ONLY good thing about this is that I can start playing NOW. Instead of Tuesday. But knowing Blizz, they will release the PVE name on Monday freakin Night.
Farming raid consumes requires me to be in the open world.

I think this decision goes to the larger question of whether or not Blizzard will release Cataclysm classic . I think that Blizzard doesn’t want to come out and say that they won’t release Cataclysm classic since the expansion was so unpopular.
So they have decided to destroy the classic community now so that in the future they can say that they aren’t releasing Cataclysm classic because the classic player base is too small.

That’s sort of the whole point. Otherwise it’s not really the same.
People sound terrified they might have to learn how to play their class.
And that is our point. PVP’s can play the way they want to on a PVE and PVP server. PVE’s can only play the way they want on a PVE server. As someone said previous, I don’t want to pay money to be someone’s content.

this is asking for what New World did… i believe they still don’t have cross server OR and its a common pain point of that community.
Please add a PvE server, I was very excited for these fresh realms and I still hold out hope you will change your minds. I had a time in my life where I enjoyed world PvP and that has passed, I admit I am not good at PvP and I do not enjoy engaging in PvP any more in general, I just want to hit murlocs with a big sword and spend my chill out time chilling out rather than worry some PvP Chad is going to demolish me.

Some of us know how and have played on pvp servers in the past. Some of us grew up and don’t want to waste time fighting the orc hunter who won’t let you farm in peace. I don’t want to pvp. It doesn’t mean I don’t know the class I’ve been playing since vanilla.

PVP BABY ALL THE WAY WOOOOOOOOO! Every fresh server that attempted to start up on dead servers were PVP, most fresh people want pvp. Also in WOTLK with flying mounts, easier to avoid pvp at 70-80
Exactly. So give us a pve realm. No one is stopping you on a pvp realm. Let us who don’t want pvp to be able to play on a pve realm.

You don’t know that. You made that up. You haven’t asked every single fresh player.
This sure would have been nice to know a few weeks ago as my coworkers and I, who are planning to form up a guild in Wrath, were deciding to start at the time on an existing realm, or wait for the fresh start “realms” to be announced (seeing as we had voted on PvE). We could have all been well along in levelling by now. That’s the real kicker - the fact that Blizz nebulously announced “Fresh start REALMS” and waited till now to tell anyone that it would only be one PvP realm.
