Sorry, what?
There have been numerous incidents involving trans people physically assaulting others. Please explain how a factual statement infringes on sensitivity, respect and acceptance?
I am gay but I'll be the first to concede that numerous social problems plague the gay community. Am I now disrespectful to the gay community because I have stated something factual?
There have been numerous incidents involving gay men physically assaulting others. Therefore, they can't complain about homophobia which they themselves instigate.
....see, I can make up crap to justify bigoted nonsense, too. You've basically taken the infamous "gay panic" defense and made it a justification for "trans panic" instead.
LOL.
You have completely misread me. FWIW, incidents like that (and guess what, they DO happen very often) are horrible and require every bit of condemnation. My identity is not that fragile that a "gay panic" is gonna send me into a tizzy.
Just because someone is a member of LGBTQ or a marginalized minority, does not set them on a pedestal, or make them free of flaw.
As an aside, I don't think I mind the new rules on the new forum, I mean I have said lots of rubbish on this forum that I sometimes regret, I think we all have, so when you have an incentive to make sure you are not making too many jokes or lolzing over the whole Diablo Immortal fiasco, much less risk of embarrassing yourself and someone from your guild coming coming here and catching you in the act

Interestingly, you could replace “trans” and “gay” in the above paragraphs for most social-demographic groups and have it be factual simply because it’s vague.
Not denying your experiences and I have every reason to believe you’re true - it was nonetheless amusing replacing them with any other group for funsies.
Says quite a bit about the original poster I was quoting, and then you that you guys take on the tact of a bemused, yet veiled attack on me without even knowing the specifics of the discussion.
And yes, you can do what you suggest - but to what purpose exactly? Because other groups have been criticized for their wrongful actions. Why is LGBT exempt? And why is a discussion on this topic taboo or X-phobic and warranting a silence (by extension a forum vacation, perhaps)?
My apologies for offending. I was merely point out how many different groups within our society are hateful and can easily be switched in for the terms you used.
I’m not trying to deny your story, but I can see what you mean by it being tactless given I don’t know to what you’re ultimately referring. I’ll edit it as appropriate.

Exactly. Who determines the trust thing?
These systems will create an army of yes-men, and curb creativity, critique, and humour. So many flame/troll posts are funny, and in good spirit. But all it takes is one stick in the mud to deem it "inappropriate" or misconstrue what was said...

You're strawmanning. I've not said that transgender people belong on a pedestal. I just don't believe that
anything justifies bigotry
per se (which is what transphobia is, though perhaps you have a different definition).
No matter how obnoxious a trans person is, it doesn't give someone the right to attack or murder them simply for being trans.
I wonder how trusted the MVPs will be? :)
I wonder how trusted the MVPs will be? :)
Undoubtably more than an unvetted poster. They'd have contacted them personally, have lines of communication with them, have actual real life names and email associated possibly. MVPs also -must- have authenticators attached.
Overall, there's every reason that they -should- be trusted over a random account.

Theres a hole in that theory i could fly a 747 through.

Don't trash post and you'll be fine.
Where's the fun in that? That's like 90% of the forums gone and RIP sunday posts.

I saw it too but honestly this person is very tiring and very boring.
It's like having a discussion with a child over why the sky is blue.
In all honesty, I've been on this forum many years, and I find criticisms of some wow features amusing, criticisms of the whole diablo fiasco amusing, but unfortunately too many people get WAY too personal and attack a person's character rather than attacking their arguments...seen it happen time and time again.
Comments like "oh I know that person in-game, and they REALLY suck and are so bad at this game" are not helpful to anything.
Like it doesn't matter to me whether you are a pro LFR, anti LFR, pro random dungeon finder, against random dungeon finder, whatever it is...everyone is entitled to their opinion, you don't go personally attacking someone as you disagree with their opinion.
Where I get concerned about censorship going too far is when general statements and honest thoughts get censored and banned...like let's face it, a lot of people don't like that Diablo Immortal game, but their opinion seemed to be getting silenced and shut down for a while there, I don't agree with that. That's the kind of censorship I don't like.
What I am hoping to see on the new forum is more civility between members, but more honesty on what content and features that they like/dislike in the game.

Trust Levels
We want to reward users who are positively contributing to the forums. Over time, these players will be rewarded with the ability to post more often, embed images/links, and more.
Flagging
We’ve removed the “thumbs down” button and replaced it with a flagging system with multiple options.
Sounds like a mixture of Orwellian "Big Brother is watching" as well as Black Mirror's "Nosedive" episode that depicts a society where everything you do is dictated by your rating.

Good thing I have four meow meow beans.

Yeah this doesnt sound so good.
We'll tryst you once you get with the newspeak
Newspeak:
Rule No.1 : - Always tell the Devs how much you love them
Rule No. 2:- Never criticize Blizzard
- If in doubt see Rule Rule No.1
P.S:
Supplementary Rule: For all you people who think "constructive criticism" matters?
You're adorable.

I don't think it'll be too bad.
From my perspective it seems like "post more often" means "as normal, but circumvent post timer if you're upboated enough"
Could be wrong.
I did once get a 24hr suspension for calling someone an utter moron (I explained with points after though!) so maybe there will be some crappy suspensions.
Are you so short sighted that you do not see the egregious corruption and abuse this system will allow? You will be forced off of the forums never able to post if you deviate from the accepted company line. Not even Facebook could get away with this perfidy.
Best possible way to bring this to an appropriate close is to go to the wider audience. Burn MorganStanley and Forbes and other financial investment managers twitter feeds up.

If "online censorship" was made illegal, for private companies to censor what was said on their private business websites..then that would destroy the internet and all the "free thought" you are fighting for. Why? Because..lets use Blizzard in this example..they would just stop using forums all together.
You are not seeing the forest for the trees. Read what I wrote, and try again.
I tried again. You stated that the only reason online censorship is not illegal is because I am apathetic and I have a lemming condition.
It is not apathy.
I am actively against online censorship being made illegal. I am actively, steadfast, against the regulation of private businesses not being allowed to censor their own private websites.
If I am missing some point, please feel free to explain.
