My bet is that dragons are the children/beings of the realm of life.
I would also not say that makes them evolving from elementals retconned either.
We don’t truly know what elementals are. We have see though that every cosmic force has elementals.
Lightspawn are elementals of light. Voidwalkers are elementals of void. Felfire elementals exist. Death elementals we have seen in shadowlands.
Fire, wind, earth, and water could be the elementals of life as I don’t see how you portray an elemental of “life” and we know wind ,lightning, earth, and water are classified as nature magic.
