What do you mean?
Thereâs soup?
laughs in high elf topic
I agree. Hence the reason I actually think the Alleria style tattoos make more sense in the Alliance. But Iâm not gonna be mad if the Blood Elves get them or try to prevent anyone from asking.
Oh High there.
Itâs like you literally keep forgetting that Blood Elves are literally, in universe and on the meta level, a reinvention of the generic elf fantasy.
I think I have said this before, but itâs utterly pointless to try to argue with someone that believes that Blood Elves didnât went through a massive cultural shift after the Fall of Quelâthalas.
Itâs like you are asking me to to explain why the earth is round; To me it feels really impossible to fathom how can someone genuinely miss the entire point of a race they claim to like.
Iâm gonna be honest, if you are going to contest the basic notion that Blood Elves were deeply changed ideologically by the fall of Quelâthalas and the following choices, I honestly believe an argument between the two of us is ultimately pointless.
Already explained above. But for real, I really donât think you and I can have a productive conversation and thatâs fine.
Or 3. Iâm pointing out how ridiculous the trollish glee about people disagreeing with eachother is.
But whatever makes you happy I guess.
i think they changed culturally from the spoiled city folk concept, to hardened warriors, the premise of which started with arthas and continued into their new faction decision. surely your time around cultures that are dramatically different from a high elf culture, has changed how you view literally everything. the difference is, i believe that change suggests the reimplementation of tattoos. though such a thing isnt necessary, since elves are ancient and tattoos, once rendered, dont go away that easily.
I like blood elves because they are patriots! they love their nation quelthalas! thier people and their traditions and culture! they are willing to give their lives for their homeland for the sunwell that is the pillar of their civilization! You think that desperate measures in desperate times are a cultural change and it is not true! at the end of TBC we recovered the sunwell and returned to our normal lives! sinâdorei is not only in honor of the fallen it is also in honor of the noble blood of the highborne (queldorei)! and I know that because I know the lore of the race that I like
Which is fair and Iâve always supported HE things on the basis of loving BEs I felt bad people who preferred the Alliance faction didnât have a playable option.
And when that same grace isnât extended back itâs insulting. And Iâm fine calling out HE posters who have nothing but obvious snide remarks and jabs for BE players.
My only point is the lackluster BE customizations I stand by believing core race should come first. Thatâs it, thatâs my POV and apparently at least some other peopleâs as well.
I. Am. A Blood. Elf. Player.
There must always be a High elf thread
(Goes back to check the title⊠/facepalm oh yeah⊠itâs a void elf and blood elf announcementâŠ) silly me.
I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but I certainly disagree with the notion that the desperate measures taken to survive can just be swept under the rug.
Thatâs the sort of cultural trauma and decisions that change you, it feels really disrespectful to pretend that their crucible -which is the almost destruction of their way of life- didnât inextricably changed them and they just have returned to be what they once were as if nothing had happened.
Even the Sunwell isnât what it used to be, itâs not just a fount of arcane power, but also light, the light based fervor that exists now in Blood Elven culture didnât exist before, that is also a new development.
And again, itâs really not about the tattoos themselves -they can easily be reintroduced- itâs the justification of it, the pretension that Blood Elves didnât change after their crucible and measures they took to survive.
That itself feels disrespectful of the path Blood Elves have taken, from the very lows to the very highs.
Iâm just going to say again, after reading everything here, that the blood elf/high elf/ night elf/etc elf is fine and dandy based on personal interpretation, but currently blood elf females are not getting unique hairs, theyâre only getting recycled meshes from the male blood elves and the gnome females. The top knot looks ridiculous when you run and it bounces up and down. xD
I personally think they lost the shishifroofroo snobby aristocrat style nature after the zombie apocalypse which is part of why I hate the tacky Claireâs bargain bin costume jewelry so much.
Yes sir!
And alsoâŠweâre not âantisâ, weâre proBloodElves imo. ![]()
so you dont think a culture of warrior elves would have jewelry, particularly amulets? i suppose if it had magical stats on it, itâd be better received.
Its like you literally wrote this as if it has any purpose towards your argument, but is really just a veiled snide remark to demonstrate your presumption of being correct on the matter.
I think you literally forgot how an argument is formulated.
You make a claim, then you support said claim.
Otherwise, youâre presuming to be correct, and asking why anyone is questioning you. in essence, begging the question.
You have, and its gone nowhere because here is the flaw.
You are focused on the fall of quelâthalas.
Guess what? That was in WC3.
Ever sicne TBC, the blood elves have done the following.
Reignited the sunwell
Returned to their culture.
Returned to honor the sunwell as their birthright as they did in the past.
Had repeated statements from the racial leader about the preservation of their culture including an entire questline explaining how theyâve redeemed themselves in the face of their losses and returned to their origins..
You insisting theyâve gone through a massive cultural shift is meaningless when you keep ignoring the bolded content.
Quit begging the question, and actually support your claim.
Iâll make it easy for oyu.
What are these major cultural changes that you keep proposing have occurred and why can you not list them?.
Absent this support, you are basically creating a cyclical argument and saying
âThe earth is round because the earth is round.â.
Cool story, but the real reason the Earth is round is due to basically, gravitational forces.
This is an assumption your argument is automatically correct, also known as , begging the question, which is a logical fallacy.
You cannot presume you are correct, when in my bolded statement, you have the opposite being claimed in game.
Prove your claim or quit making it Talendrion.
That is how a productive conversation works, and not the group think conversations you are used to having
hahaâŠthatâs great!
Who has repeatedly mocked other BE players.
Called BE player requests not genuine.
Which by the way I did mistakenly think you were supporting DR themes, until it was pointed out to me by many people you were not, and upon re reading I do regret giving that comment a like.
Thinks fairness for people is âpetulantâ
Spoken to players in rude condescending ways, failing to understand one can both request something, and point out a lack of fairness at the same time which does validate the argument more.
