Good. So then The energies of the Well of eternity changed Dark Trolls, making them the whole new race of Night Elves. How is this any different from the Highborne who LOST that energy, and created a different well of energy then sucked on it for over 10.000 years? If we follow rule 1 with Night Elves, energy source is what defines Elves.

That goes back to the stupidity of the argument about Elf Species.

The argument is that a visual change makes them a different species.

So a High Elf is a different Species from a Night Elf…

But a Blood Elf and High elf are the same species. Even though if you lined all the Blood Elves up with a High Elf you’d have been able to tell the difference between them from a glance.

Magic changes Elves. So there are only two options really…

Either any magical change changes their race… OR… they’re just dark trolls affected differently by magic.

Blood Elf Demon Hunters (which are more fel corrupted than Fel Blood Elves) are still considered Blood Elves.

Night Elf Demon Hunters are still considered Night Elves.

Illidan is still considered a Night Elf and he has hooves and serrated teeth.

This is actually not true. Death knights are consider a type of undead. The describer of blood elf/night elf/human refer to the type of death knight they are, but that does not mean they are still human. They’re a death knight.

Void elves bleed purple, have tentacles, have no connection to the sunwell. The same they are not.

Actually Chronicles says that Dark Trolls don’t like other trolls.

The dark trolls cherished their independence from greater troll society, and they largely ignored the activities of other tribes.

Largely irrelevant because evolution does not care about time. Evolution has been noted in as little as two generations or even one.

There are cases where new species spontaneously emerge from an existing one.
