But they are different Races in World of Warcraft.
And that supersedes Chronicles.
So Void Elves are still a different race from Blood Elves and High Elves.
Just like Kul Tirans and Gilneans are a different race from Stormwind Humans.
If they were all the same thing, they’d be funneled together into one Race. But WoW says they are different races and since it supercedes Chronicles, that’s how it is.
For a moment, he wavered. He listened to the voice of his inner demon and realized it was his own. His soul had been tainted when he devoured the felhound. It had absorbed the demon’s evil and been twisted. There was really no other demon than himself. To give in to the voice of temptation would be to forswear his quest for vengeance and break faith with his dead wife and child. He did not want to kill Illidan. He wanted to kill the things that had made Illidan into what he was. He understood now as he never had before what the Betrayer stood for, because of what he stood against.
Seems that this particular guy, Vandel, thought that he had an inner demon, but he’d just been twisted by the fel.
Guys, my subscription is running out. So, see you around!
Once it’s over, I’ll be able to post one more time before the forums block me. I’ll use this opportunity to post something when I play next alpha build and get some pics.
It wouldn’t be a curse if they willingly accept it as a “gift.” I imagine Alleria could convince most Alliance High Elves that the void isn’t all bad. That said I’ll accept the wayfarer solution
It’d be less believable if every High Elf would be on board. They should replace the Silvermoon scholars in the rift with High Elves and confirm that they’re High Elves from the various Alliance sources. Done and done.
Playable High Elves were ineivitable. I think they gave themselves an out with the whole, “We want people to be more different in BFA.” bit…
But when you’ve got your forums on fire for two years it’s obvious you made a mistake.
But at the same time, when people are like, “We want to play Wildhammer Dwarves and Forest Trolls and High Elves.” and those things are all kind of like Lightforged Draenei where it’s just different skin or eye colors or customizations to a race where you’ve already been trashed for Lightforged Draenei, what do you do?
Here’s Ion talking about being interested in Allied Race requests:
But like I said, what do you do with than feedback is always so close to what already exists?
Especially when the questline to unlock them takes so much resources to complete.
We’re talking months and months of development time to drop in an Allied Race quest, or a heritage armor quest.
So doing that over and over again for some races that aren’t as visually distinct isn’t a great idea… and then there are complaints about… what Nightborne look like and the lack of customization options for the different Allied Races where to get around the complaints it’s easier just to drop the customizations into the main race and make it more robust for new players.
So we’ll see. Other than Paladins, Void Elves have all the races you’d expect High Elves to have. So really it’s the racial name and Entropic Embrace that’s in the way. I don’t know anybody that uses the Void portal anyways. Maybe it’s useful in PVP, But it doesn’t have the speed or range of Blink.
But they’ve already got entropic embrace customizations so these things definitely aren’t insurmountable.
