I’ve actively asked for Dark Ranger themes. Tattoos. And more hairstyles.
I’ve also never disagreed with more things for VEs. But to think you’d get them before BE fans get our things, and to be mad BE fans want to express that to Blizzard being the core race is just bizarre to me.
Someone evidently doesn´t work on customer feedback nor muchy less R&D.
A pointer: nobody said it has to be “yes, man” every time… as a matter of fact and by the PoV of design, if people doesn´t like something, the actual NICE AND PROPER thing to do is to bluntly say it so the designers don´t waste unnecessary time in asets that will be rejected in the future.
Don´t mistake niceness with stupidity. Cause staying quiet and saying “aww devs, if maybe you have some time can you pretty please implement x and y too? you know, if you can…” will get us NOTHING. Any time you give such HUGE margin and such LESS expectations to a designer you WILL 10 out of 10 times get a “nahh, why bother, it´s not really important for the customer if not he would truly fight about it”.
Would I know it, I work in this field. And yup, when I´m not VERY picky with my service / material providers, they try to half-as their work. Cause it´s cheaper, very “business 101”.
Nightborne players asking nicely since alpha would love to have a word with your “theory”. Horde players asking the devs over the worrisome lore leaked in BtS would too love to have a word with your argument too.
Indeed, proved my point. Deffinitely has no clue over design work…
Wearing kid gloves is what causes disasters like WoD or BfA. When you let people space so they can get away with mediocre stuff, they WILL try to. Every time.
I don’t care when I’d get them, and you shouldn’t either in the case for blood elves, you can cry about core race all you want, Void Elves are our 3rd most played race wether that’s for the blood elf rig or the high elf fantasy is neither here nor there, but acting like a child, “I want blood elves to get things before void elves”, when they’re not only both separate races but are on separate factions, is spiteful.
Also just insanely hilarious because you have gotten much more customization options than void elves you just don’t like them, so not only do you want more (which is fine), you want it before another race that has nothing to do with you.
This is just rude, and you’re mislabeling people, and is a prime example of why outsiders looking in don’t like the HE community.
My stance stands, Blood Elves being the core race shouldn’t have to compete with an AR for attention during the core race customization period, and BE fans feel our options are lackluster, therefor we should take precedent, in this specific thread of BE’s and VE’s, it is fair to point such a thing out to Blizzard considering this thread is also flooded with additional VE requests, which is fine, but they shouldn’t be a detriment to Blood Elves.
I’m currently finishing a software engineering degree.
As an engineer who has to deal with documentation and code, I have no patience or time for platitudes. I want precise feedback so I can get my job done.
From the standpoint of a writer, words like, “tacky” and “gaudy” are more descriptive than, “I don’t care for it.”
As someone who has done art for hire professionally, I don’t need people to spare my feelings when telling me what needs to change.
They aren’t, you just want them to because you want even more things first before we even get a chance to get our things started because you’re under the impression “core race” matters when half our “core races” are eclipsed by void elf numbers, with how popular they are, they’re essentially a core race.
I love you trying to defend trying to stop people for asking for things before you get your things, ask for your things, we’ll ask for ours, it’s really that simple.
When I didn’t start saying “void elves should go last and don’t deserve more before my race gets even more”
Or are we just ok with unfairness now because they’re just not fond of the new things they have gotten?
Like I told him, his opinion or anyone else’s on the quality of his customizations is irrelevant when it comes to how many they’ve received thus far as compared to void elves.
Only thing I’m dismissing is his claims of unfairness, because it’s factually not true, numbers wise.
And as an artist, I find this feedback on this issue utterly useless.
They aren’t going to remove new customization assets they spent time on just because you think jewelry is “lame”. Especially when I saw TONS of people saying they loved them on WoWhead and the forums.
Instead of trashing on the stuff you DID get, and asking for it to be removed, you can simply ask for MORE/DIFFERENT stuff that suits your tastes.
You don’t think the artists at Blizz WANT to make tons of cool customization options that players will love? That includes a variety of stuff. Just because something doesn’t suit your tastes doesn’t mean it should be removed/replaced for something that fits your aesthetic.
It’s not like they have a limited # of options they are allowed to add.
You’re still getting everything thats been revealed is my knowledge, so why would it offend you so much for BE players to ask for refined and finished BE customization during the core race customizations period, unless you were hoping for more in the immediate… and that conflicts with the more now attitude you have?
Blood Elf players account for a pretty large population too. Larger than VE’s iirc? I’m unsure maybe someone can confirm for me. Not sure what you’re pointing out other than BE’s have a population worth making sure is happy?
And I will continue to remind Blizzard of Blood Elves designation as a core race, until I see us actually get the love befitting a core race that they promised.
