New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

I did…

Seeing everyone else getting a duality of themes and pretty much what I was hoping to see for the race I play is incredibly frustrating. And when someone suggests something more to be added to blood elves, it’s shut down by: “WELL BLOOD ELVES HAVE GOTTEN PLENTY STOP ASKING FOR STUFF!”

So… yeah, it’s frustrating being told to be happy with this when, objectively, no, I despise it. I’m not going to pretend I like the new options, because I don’t. Every single thing I’ve seen as a matter of fact has just been a huge, bitter disappointment.

There will be blood elf players entirely happy with this. I get that. But me, personally? I’m just sharing my opinion that I very much am not.

I mean, I don’t think any logical or sane person in this thread is saying Belves shouldn’t get more stuff. I think it’s moreso people disliking the way you’re asking for it by saying “Velves have gotten more stuff than Belves” and “Belves have gotten less stuff than all the other races” which just isn’t…true?

Like, we can ask for more stuff without trying to make it a competition. And that goes for people asking for Velf stuff too.

The only time I see people respond that way is when the original poster said something like “Belves have gotten less stuff than every other race!” etc. :man_shrugging:

I genuinely don’t see anyone saying Belves shouldn’t get more stuff just 'cuz.

It’s perfectly fine to not be satisfied, Fallynn.

But it’s plain fact that for the last few years there were people campaigning for blue eyes or going to high elf threads saying “these things should have been given to blood elves because blood elves are high elves”.

That was the message Blizzard heard, because there was a mob of people screaming for it.

I’m not accusing you or anyone in particular of being part of that mob. I actually feel sorry for people like you who weren’t heard because of that other group. But that group existed and that can’t be denied.

I literally repeated for the last two years that people opposing high elf threads or creating threads on blue eyes should stop denying others’ requests and start asking for what they want instead.

Then, when blood elves get exactly what they spent years asking for blood elves, they start complaining that it’s too little? That pisses me off.

But that sentiment is not towards you nor anyone else that wasn’t part of that group. You should keep asking for what you want, maybe Blizzard will hear now.

Well, that’s good then. Honestly, the more stuff everyone gets, the merrier. People want some blood elf hair styles? Take them! People want some of the jewlery? Have at it. I just wish more customization was shared so we could make our characters the way we wanted to more.

But then it’s ‘You’re ruining the theme of this race’, which makes no sense as an argument if you ask me, because not only was BfA basically ending with a tentative peace with the Alliance and Horde, but other races, especially those working in close proximity, influence one another all of the time if that makes sense.

So hair styles and jewelry of all things I think would make sense to be shared.

(Not saying the one I quoted makes that argument by the way! Counterpointing it early!)

There isn’t a competition one is a core race, one isn’t. And the core races are being taken care of first and BE fans are feeling like we as a core race have lack luster customization, that should be a flag to Blizzard to come back to us.

What good customization is is pretty subjective though. I like a lot of the belf options. There’s definitely more I would like to see, but that doesn’t mean nothing has been added.

Just because you dislike an option, that doesn’t mean it’s bad customization. People should absolutely ask for what they want to see, but again, people have different tastes and some might enjoy the options people are bashing.

Indeed, plaguing the lore since 2004. The Windrunner sisters are a VERY noticeable example of this cancer plaging the narrative of the game.

Excuse me, but unless you have ther actual REAL feedback from ALL AND EVERY Belf fan and/or poster to statistically and scientifically prove your claim, then you´re just sprouting toxic BS. Your actual claim was worse than calling individual names, you just took the easy way out and put the label on ALL of us and lumped a falsehood to defend Blizzard for their mediocre work. I actually wonder why you act like this, like actual feedback done by some posters in this (the thread actually CREATED by Blizz to do so) is such a “complain”.

As a “helfer” tired of being “demeaned” by huge swats of assumptions made on yourself by “antis”, you should know better than act EXACTLY THE SAME and try to sell a “martyrdoom” tale (A.K.A. ALL Belf posters asked for Blue eyes just to screw up with MY petition, so they now got what they deserved) to justify your a-holish attitude, period.

Fedback is that: criticism over the features exhibited by a product (in this particular case, the product IS the gameplay model, THIS customizations ARE the selling point to catch customers). In which universe only “yes, man” answers can be considered “true fedfback and not qq”? Heck, are you even aware that -the “no negativity in the dojo”- attitude WAS what caused the lore disgrace in BfA? or are you too busy acting like an anti to realize it?

I´ll tell to you the same I said to the Worgen: don´t care over Belf customizations? AMAZING, then stay out of our way and don´t come here just to diminish the concerns and opinions of the people that actually DO care over the race, period.

Says the helfer, the irony. I should take a picture for the next time you accuse the Belf posters of “limiting your petitions”.

I am so on board with the sharing of hair and jewelry. A lot of the current options for hair are shared anyway.

Couldn’t agree more. Sharing hair assets alone would increase the amount of character options for the races by like 100000 and would allow everyone to look truly different. And it’s easy for Blizzard to do.

I also think that the entire customization update we are getting is setting it up for Blizzard to be able to add even more stuff for everyone in the future. Just seemingly simple stuff like separating hair and beards and brows for certain races and adding “accesories” and “Scar” sections etc. is promising for the future. I hope they continue to add customizations to all races every few months even after Shadowlands launches.

I get that! And I really, really don’t understand anyone who would say it’s “ruining the theme of Blood Elves!”

Void Elfs now can look like High Elfs (kind of).

Trolls can look like Sand or Forest Trolls

Dwarves can look like Wildhammer dwarves now

etc. etc. etc.

There’s no reason to not add more options to Belves too for different themes/looks like Dark Rangers, Farstriders, Arcane magisters, etc.

Adding more OPTIONS isn’t “diluting” the theme of the race and I never understood that argument, especially since people have been crying the same thing about Velves becoming “diluted” when all the tentacle and blue skins are still there xD

Yeah, like if only we shared more hair styles. What night elves got with those half-mohawks? I love it so much. I have characters with those exact hair styles pretty much.

And I know there’s tons of blood elf styles that others would like too. The swirly/wavy one we already have, for example, I don’t think it’s on night elves, and such like that.

They might need to modify them, granted, to fit ‘xyz’, same with orcish, trollish, etc etc hairs, but it’d be so nice and bring more flavor.

Like if your character hangs out with trolls more or orcs? They’d have a more wild hair style.

Or on the Alliance side, a worgen in human form with more of a night-elfish looking hairstyle because they hang out with night elves more.

It’d be fun and bring in a lot of flavor.

You and me both for sure. Really crossing my fingers for more for everyone. Some of the stuff released recently for trolls (like the streak of dyed hair) has me like ‘wow I want that one too’ hahaha.

I want to steal lots of the new styles from various races for other races. It really would be a great way to expand customization further as well, and as you said give people the chance to add different flavors to characters based on who they are close with/inspired by.

Yes, the one that kept hearing “blood elves should get this instead” for two years.

As well as the one that has been in this thread saying blood elves should get red eyes, more hair options shared from other races and their own tattoos.

Because, unlike you, I’ve been focusing on positive discussion on where things should go next.

Agreed 100%. Especially since like, realistically, hair is something that ANYONE can wear any way they want. You don’t need to be a Nightelf to have a side-swept hairstyle, all races should have it too. All hairs should be open to all races (or those who have hair, at least :P). What keeps it “unique” is still that race’s hair colors/silhouette/accessories/etc.

YES I also think they are getting makeup from what I saw at the Blizzcon teaser where a Troll lady had dark lipstick and eyeshadow, I wish all races would get some makeup options like Humans got

AND MORE SCARS PLEASE THE NIGHTELF ONES LOOK SO COOOOL I’m not a scar person but dang after seeing the new Nelf ones I realllllyyy want them for other races.

^^ Speak on it

What do you think we´re trying to do when we say “thank god that abomination excuse of jewerly” was removed?

We´re giving our feedback, dear. Ergo saying “I REALLY don´t like this, please change it for x, y and/or z”

No, it´s more like people have no freaking idea over how companies work and what a schedule is.

Right now is the time Activision Blizzard deigned under the label: “artwork regarding CORE races”. After this design phase ends, I´ll guarantee they will do NOTHING to either implement and/or fix the stuff for core races just like they never fixed the issues surrounding the Nightborne after alpha finished and perma ignored since BfA´s beta.

So while Velves WILL probably get time to get more stuff when the AR are touched upon (take in mind Blizz as usual just said: we will first work on core races but maybe later on AR -ergo, they never said “no”, they just said “later”-), Belves just have THIS current time. Reason why Belf player feedback IS critical RIGHT NOW, because if we don´t manifest our opinions NOW, then in beta it WILL be too late.

I want the new draenei styles for all the elves, and for the dwarves. Also the new nelfy styles for all the other elves and dwarves and I’m loving the troll ones too.

Sharing is caring!

I’d love to share most stuff like that. Some is more racial I think like bones in ears and noses, or the night elf leaves but much of the rest is pretty standard stuff.

I think it is important for Blizzard to remember BE’s during this core race customization period as well, especially when our actual options only end up getting shared, and or just are lack luster. Though I personally liked the male jewelry I hear it is gone now and I am sad about it.

It’s more helpful to be specific about what you want to see rather than what you don’t want.

Criticism is not whining and it is a valid from of communication.

Since you’re tone policing I’m going to point out that “lame” is ableist language and it’s kind of offensive.
