New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

It saddens me that the Alliance and Horde can only seem to set aside their differences in the face of total annihilation.

If we do prevail against N’zoth, will you yet again turn your blades on each other?

Her gossip text in Dazar’alor. Sounds pretty neutral to me.

Is she loyal to the Wrynn family? Yes, but not kill Horde for the Alliance loyal I’d imagine.

Yes, but this was before the attack on Quel’thalas, when he decided to remain with the Alliance and ignore the edicts to return home. Kael’thas described many of these choices, and behaviors as causes for why he felt like an outsider in his own home, many of which also apply to the 10% that remained as well.

Ironically Kael’thas is far similar to Alliance high elves than he is to the very race he’s the lord of.

And I’ve always been a supporter of this, and always encouraged players to come up with suggestions that perpetuated these cultural disparities instead of themes that feel more appropriate on the Blood elves. Although occasionally I do stumble upon people who feel the name High elf entitles them to these themes over blood elves, which has always been a point of contention for me.

But we really don’t know if these individuals are the same as the ones from Quel’lithien, and considering that any remaining High elves from that lodge are still considered independent leaves me skeptical as that choice always felt like it was deliberately made.

Unfortunately that Encyclopedia entry is rather vague as to which High elves they’re referring to. It could have been the Allerian High elves, or even individuals scattered over Azeroth who weren’t initially aware that Quel’thalas was attacked, or that a splintering between the elves had even occurred. While I don’t think it’s impossible, I would really prefer it if we had an example of one who we knew for-a-fact joined the Alliance after the lodge’s ruin to be sure.

I have run into this many times, so I’m pretty sure some people are mistaken. The next time it happens I’ll be sure to bookmark the page so you can see for yourself.

To clarify I’m not suggesting that this misconception makes up the majority of the high elf request, or pro-community, merely that it is confusion that I find myself having to clarify to players often. Whether it be here on the forums, on youtube, etc.

I think it typically involved themes revolving the Farstriders like tattoos, braids, and other ranger-style options that hearken to their past as rangers. It was strange seeing players bombard those threads claiming that because “High elves” had those options in Warcraft, the Blood elves had no right to ask for them.

The blue eyes part bothered me because the huge argument was always that the visual similarity with Blood elves didn’t matter because the cultural disparity between them and the Alliance high elves justified their inclusion. And Blue eyes just felt like a natural option because it represented the arcane, which most Alliance High elves avoided associating themselves with.

Yeah but she’s working as a messenger between Baine and the Alliance and even when you run into her in Dazar’alor she’s giving you a message from Magni. She spends all her time hanging out with Shaw.

I hang out with all kinds of people in Legion do to the Order Halls. That doesn’t make them neutral either.

If they’re going to pull nonsense like the bag slots, I don’t see why not put in something that people would actually like.

Random Alliance poster at six o’clock.

One thing that I found really odd and without a precedent:
Female nelves have that charcoal-colored skin and males have the pale fair skin, which appear to be exclusive for the sexes?

Also the light purple hair is only present in females.

I wonder if that is just temporary or if they’ll really have that kind of exclusive features that aren’t supposed to be exclusive.

Warcrafts rule is, “As many as the plot demands.”

How many races are written as nearly extinct? The Darkspear and Tauren are both written that way in Warcraft 3.

It means just that, “High Elves.”

That article explicitly states that the remaining High Elves are ones who didn’t join Blood Elves and were refusing to siphon magic.

Elves have been using them since warcraft 2, especially the ranger corp so Farstriders are likely to have them.

Not quite. They refused to drain magic.

But the Allerian Hold Elves managed to avoid draining magic by finding Draenic vessels to drain mana from.

Previously eye colors weren’t an option. You got one eye color option. It made sense High Elves would be represented by the model and eye color they already had in game.

Obviously, with eye color selection this becomes superfluous.

Nearly a Satyr.

She really is neutral though. She refers to herself as sin’dorei, she defends a lot of what blood elves did to survive, and is loyal to her people, as well as to the Wrynn family.

She should come hang with us in the forums, using a green background to post!

A lot of NPC neutrality in WoW isn’t particularly neutral though.

Like… Dalaran is neutral… but it’s composed almost entirely of people from the Alliance.

Thrall does neutral things but he’s Horde.

If push comes to shove and the Horde attacked Varian or Anduinn there’s not any ambiguity on which side she’s on.
