And will we see all representation of the various Troll groups being added? And so on and so forth? I think the core of it is a group people want to play, and the player agency to do so. The Dark Rangers in Orgrimmar alone enough citation for such implementation.

I agree if San’layn were to come through customization they need more lore, but for Dark Ranger themes I think it is already present enough, the way Wayfarers and new Silvermoon scholars are conveniently there.

Did the Night Elf accept the undead/risen NE dark rangers among them? Or did they announce listing them under NE as a “subrace”? I’d like a source for both. (I actually want to know this, because last I’ve seen of those NE rangers, is that they went away with Calia somewhere).

As in, until this point no one was able to play a wayfarer backgrounded VE, now they can.

Still doesn’t say High Elves are now a sub race of the Void elves. The announcement did not even say High elves/wayfarer. The explanation as to why/how they’re going sharing skin colors with Blood Elves has not yet been yet given, apart from the aesthetic aspect of it.

Sure thing, I support that too, as long as they’re their own thing. People ask for many things, but it doesn’t mean Blizzard should implement them in the way people want. Undead within the same Blood elves race just isn’t lore friendly at all.

The difference is that the race is Troll, so any Troll can theoretically fall under it. Dark Rangers are Thalassians, but they are not Blood Elves.

They could be former BE’s. And they are Horde, and with Snowsongs comments on HE’s returning to Quel’Thalas and joining the Horde making sense, why are you drawing the line at what type of Thalassian a Dark Ranger is?

But as we see Forsaken don’t have exclusive claim on all undead races. NE DK’s are NE DK’s and so forth, so the precedent has never been undead = Forsaken.

Any High Elves returning to Quel’Thalas would take the name Blood Elf to show allegiance to Silvermoon, and thus be Blood Elves. As of now, in game, there are no undead Blood Elves. I’m not saying this can’t change, just why they aren’t Blood Elves now.

What are the DK’s? They can be chosen under BE, then DK as class. This is such an odd argument and for what? To stop Dark Ranger customization for BE’s as it’s mostly BE players who really push this, with many Forsaken players also supporting.

Well you are right, but I see no reason not to sprinkle in some Dark Rangers in Silvermoon as NPCs and Hunter Trainers.

They don’t need much as they technically already joined. And they could simply add an NPC in a basement in Murder Row and that would help some.

They seem to be done with new AR’s for now, and it may never happen. And I do believe it is inherently BE to do so, because fans of Elves will being playing Elf not Forsaken, I’ve read really well thought out posts from Forsaken players who wouldn’t want their race to be hijacked by Elf customization even if the case was made for it to go to them.

And the whole point lies on the fact that its a distinct yet still inherently BE customization, you could be an original DR, or a newly fallen BE from the Fourth War raised by Sylvanas, and we know she’s raising new DR’s in the Fourth War, and we know new DR’s don’t identify with the Forsaken as per the NE’s leaving with Calia (where they went is irrelevant the fact they don’t stay with Voss and leave as a group speaks volumes).

I’d say they’d need some sort of lore event having the Dark Rangers accepted as Sin’dorei for this to work.

That and it will still leave you the awkwardness of being able to change from alive to undead at the barber shop, although I suppose changing Troll tribes at the barber shop is pretty weird too.

Also, Dark Ranger Paladins existing would be weird.

Again, I’m not saying no, just that this wouldn’t be my favourite method to implement them.

There is a Dark Ranger in Orgrimmar right now that list the Sin’Dorei as her kin.

This does not mean that Blood Elves agree and would want to have undead within their kingdom, unless it gets retconned.

Well, the Dark Rangers are some of the fallen.

Honoring the dead does not entail welcoming them back as undead among them. They honor those who fell because of their sacrifice, they are however dead and no longer Blood elf.

We also had a Blood Elf who became a Dark Ranger in BFA.

By choice? I vividly recall Lor’themar threatening Sylvanas against raising ANY dead Blood elves during the MoP Siege of Orgrimmar, this is ingame voiced dialogue. Sylvanas is also no longer in the Horde, so why would there be any new Blood elves willingly turning to Dark Rangers? We’re discussing shadowlands customization options here afterall.

DK’s exist for almost all races (if not all, not sure at this point), they’re an exception because the undead skin is exclusive to the class and does not extend to the rest of the race… Having undead skin customization options for all Blood Elves would not make sense within the lore.

If something special ingame or within official lore takes place, where Blood Elves officially recognize Dark Rangers as their own people, only then it would make sense.

Well it looks like it could end up being the most likely way it’s implemented if VE customization is to give any indications, as well as other troll / dwarf ideas being implemented. As well as the player agency Blizzard promised.

And hopefully we see something on it soon.

The genuine requests aren’t coming from here.

Genuine requests are: “Blizzard, I love Dark Rangers. Please let us play Dark Rangers.”

They are not: “Blizzard, I am upset that Void Elves can be customized. I demand more Blood Elf Stuff.”

Dark Ranger Customization Options Request Thread

A thought occurred to me on the “[Spoilers] female and male blood elf customizations thread.” There are a fair amount of us that want dark ranger customization options really badly and I can honestly say I desire them with the fervid intensity of a Ragnaros and Sargeras love affair. If we show support enough support for these options, perhaps Blizzard will implement them. So let’s show Blizzard just how badly we want red eyes and undead skin for blood elves. This is where many are voicing our support, but it sometimes is a minor topic in the San’layn thread too when it comes into implementing both San’layn and DR’s in the same fashion.

As well as this thread being a good place to advance the topic of Blood Elf customizations.
