New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

I was shocked to use it on Alliance and it turns you into a Night Elf Dark Ranger iirc. Though that makes sense in a sense too. But still shocked me I was expected to be a regular BE / Thalassian Dark Ranger heh.

I think as a group we saw purple eyed Vereesa and were into it.

The blue eyes are a WoW construct anyways. In Warcraft 3 the assorted High Elf units didn’t have blue eyes.

In the pen and paper rpg they have a variety of eyes.

Green Eyes are due to Fel corruption so that is an actual thing.

But I don’t know that the pro side has been married to the blue eye thing.

I’m trying to give the TLDR version of an argument that I didn’t quite understand but essentially. The Female HE NPCs in alpha or something are purple eyes? And the shade of purple isn’t the shade of purple in the above picture of this thread from Linxy, so the perception is we aren’t getting HE’s because of it or something.

But the male HE NPCs have the blue shades we are getting, and the fact were getting a purple too is idk seems sufficient.

Like I said I wasn’t really following the argument but essentially nit picking the eye colors has caused some to feel snubbed is my understanding.

Yeah. White eyes were common in the games like they are some super heroes.

People were ask before how I’d feel if Blood Elves got blue eyes… and I said it didn’t matter. It doesn’t make sense in some situations. But that’s not the thing that makes High Elves High Elves.

Did they all uniformly have blue eyes in Vanilla? I thought that was a BC thing, when they became an NPC skin for Blood Elves.

Pretty much, in the novels Alleria is described as having green eyes, and this is way before Blood Elves are a thing.

The “glowing with (insert power here) color” as a monolith is an artifact of WoW specifically, elves are supposed to just have a variety of eye colors underneath that glow.

Part of why I’ve never been that fussed about a monopoly on eye colors on either end, as far as I’m concerned this is just making possible with in game customization something that was sort of just supposed to be there but was never reflected due to the limited nature of WoW’s older customization options.

Now if we could just get the choice on either end to not have the glowing effect that would be great. Not holding my breath on that though. Blizz loves their “power glow” eyes.

This whole part of the debate I’m really just lost on, the nit picking on the exact shade, I’m not saying you just in general I’m saying, and I saw some antis do it when the blue eyes were first data mined too iirc so its not just pro HE supporters but it just seems too much to me. I’m just focused on the lore, and we basically have the aesthetic but I have seen some people say “well the blue / purple is now this shade so its not HE’s” basically trying to equate this to a snub by Blizzard and that argument is just like I said too much for me and borders a little bit ridiculous for my tastes.

Yeah it’s not a issue for me. I think arguing over the eye thing is a bit ridiculous and a nothing issue. But after someone had mentioned it I did notice the difference in the blue eyes. It’s harder to see with the Void colored skins though. As for the purple eyes though I love them. I think it’s a good look for the High Elf aesthetic. Definitely something i’ll use if I make my mage look like a High Elf.

As for another Alternative to EE, i’m also a fan of having the option to have tattoos glow when the racial procs. I think that would be really cool and fit the High Elf fantasy.

As for colors maybe they could have

• Purple/Arcane

• Alleria’s blue

• Green

• Voidy color.

Let the tattoos glow whatever color tattoo you pick.

Could even add black tattoos as some suggested. I think that could fit either the High or Void look.

Big agree! Specifically I’m hoping for Dark Ranger BE stuff. But younger faces for NEs! I did see they got a new hair style though and some beards so yay to that for those that like that!
