Are you really suprised though? A toxic company picked a bunch of toxic dude bros, I’m not that shocked. As ethriel pointed out blizz gets enough feedback if they would just listen to us
This entire council must be purged!
Apparently, Kretias is trans, and the person is lying.
I just expected them to be vetted
You would think they would do so. Blizz knows they’re under a microscope with everything going and their every move is going to be analyzed and dissected.
Not putting racist and sexist and toxic dude bros on a community group meant to tackle the story should’ve been a simple thing
Just reading through those tweets reminds me of GD forum drama.
Silver lining is the Story Forum Community seems really chill and mature by comparison.
Setting a man and woman as co-leads and paying them the same should of been an easy thing too, and yet ABK still somehow managed to screw that up.
Blizz: Well, we TRIED to do a fan community thingy, but oops, we filled it with creeps! So, we had to disband it! Guess this proves we should never listen to our community about things ever again!
“But he has a higher M+ rating, he’s just one of the guys”
Having a woman as co-leader is pandering, obviously, but having a “fellow gamer” who streams isn’t. /s
Right… right…
I’m with you, I distrust anyone who can balance a full time corporate job and a high M+ score, it’s impossible to have both.
His secret was that he ran Mythic+ at work.
I feel like while he was doing that, she was actually doing the real job for two people.
Because that female experience tracks.
Sometimes the horror in things is seeing something innocuous on the surface and the full implications only hit you after a moment’s thought.
So being totally fair they both repeatedly requested equal pay and ABK’s bigwigs flatly ignored both of them until she quit and they were all “But wait! It’ll be different this time.”
TBF he had a high M+ score before getting the job
I think that it’s a childish deflection to somehow find a way to blame Blizzard for the community sucking instead of the community itself.
Right??
It’s not like they had access to these people’s post history. Not like they threw the CC together and gave them few if any guidelines.
Blizzard is partly to blame. People and organizations cultivate the communities they create. This can be done through incentives and rules. For example, FF14’s community is the way it is because of how that game’s rules are enforced. Blizzard enforces rules differently which leads to a different playerbase behavior.
