So what about the idea of having the ability to do a catch-up raid mechanic in game from the week it’s released. So if you miss any lockouts, you can make that up at any time with an extra raid run to equal the amount of lockouts since the raids release. It would cause people to raid more. Especially since you wouldn’t be left behind bc everyone would have as many raid chances at loot as the next at present. So RNG would be the only factor in gearing rather than who has more time to play. Also, lvling an alt would feel better if you knew when you hit cap then could do the raid X amount of times in a week or at your pace to catch up to the current lockout number. This would allow more players to catch up to friends etc. Also, allow people the freedom to play as many classes they want and gear them if they knew they could get those raid runs down without limits till the set current lockout is reached. Even being able to fill alt raid spots in smaller guilds easier bc you have more geared alts to offer. This would also maybe help with the issue for buy in raids. Maybe if people knew they had the same raid attempts as everyone else at their pace they wouldn’t fund these pay to play raids some are hosting. If RL locks you out of playing you shouldn’t be punished in this age of wow classic. The same way we can adapt raids for less than 40 people, Blizz should see that this would be a healthy jolt to the player base without negative repercussions. #bring back fun and loot at the same time
Thats not feasible with how classic is structured… like there is a gigantic system limitation to the point they couldn’t even begin to build something like this.
So the answer is no, simply because you are trying to divide by 0, it doesnt make sense and is not possible.
To much of a wall of text.
Something like this wouldn’t benefit those who have time issues and who level slow, it would only benefit those who level fast, by allowing them to get their alts up, and along with their guilds, power level them through raids to get all the gear they need.
Also there is currently zero reason to pay to play, however even if you feel there is and have bought into that idea, your solution wouldn’t do anything but potentially make the issues worse, as it would simply increase the number raids those people could host increasing the chance to “sell” more loot, as the solution has zero impact on actual loot dynamics.
Dont need a catch up mechanic. You already get to raid every 3 days
Who are you trying to catch up with?
Protip: you’ll still be crying that the phase is too long.
The season length is perfect as is Protip
If anyone who plays to cap wants the opportunity to get gear they should be allowed to at their pace without limits. Everyone would have the same #Season of Opportunity
Dont be toxic Gli, you know you want that loot opportunity also so stop it lol
wut
If they switched to per-boss loot lockouts instead of raidID, which they should regardless, then a system like that would be possible.
They’ve never even done lockout catch-up in modern WoW but it seems like a temporary seasonal mode is a great place to experiment. Somewhat similar to how conquest is done, but that’s a currency.
