I am on the same boat, there are tons of arguments of the original brutosaur to dollars is way more expensive than the 90$ store version, correct. That is basic math knowledge but I really do not think we should see this as justifiable or condone it as it will just give blizzard more leg room to do more stuff like this because people argued the fact that the original brutosaur costs way more money for gold, thus allowing blizzard to slowly trickle in more high priced store items because the brutosaur store mount was a ‘less extreme’ option. I am concerned for the future and how it will effect content considering people are buying these store mounts up and wondering will it damage WoW’s content and expansions in the long run if the store mounts double or triple the sales of base expansion purchases. Will they focus more on the store front or Base game content? Idk. For now I think not but I am unsure.

Its not the most expensive mount though, the old brutosaur was significantly more expensive as pointed out by the OP.
Some other rare mounts are also significantly more expensive.
Just because many people are too innumerate to do currency conversions doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

It astounds me that players call it cheaper. If it were IN GAME for 1.2 Million, I’d agree with you, without a moments hesitation. But it is not. It’s on the store for a dollar value. There is no way to obtain this in game with Just Gold.
I’m in Australia, so these prices reflect AUD not USD.
Mount Price: $120.00
Token Purchase: $27.00
Token Redeem: $20.00
Tokens Required for Mount: 6
Price to purchase mount via tokens: $162.00
Somebody had to spend $162 for you to get a mount with gold. You couldn’t just buy it with gold, that was never an option here, unlike previous mounts. And the more that players defend and feed into this, the higher Blizzard will continue to go with pricing these items, and frankly the more often they will do so. We’ll see less in-game secrets that lead to mounts, less in-game purchasable mounts etc.
This is bad for the game, it’s bad for the community.
To top it off, the item listing in the store clearly says it’s a license, implying that in addition to taking it away with a ban, suspension or shutting down the service (3rd being unlikely for now), they can just revoke the license at will, with no legal argument against it.
Finally, this is not a free to play game, so when people come in and compare it to mounts in free to plays, it’s not a direct comparison. Players need to continue to pay an ongoing amount to continue to access the mount of which you ‘purchased’ (read: licensed) after the fact AND need to continue to buy expansions every other year (Most likely to be every 18 months soon?) It’s just a bad deal.
Mounts in general should be $10-$15 USD on the store, max.
Mounts like this, being that they are special and carry extra function, should be maximum $25-$30 USD.
However, I believe that pure-gold purchases should always be available for users to obtain these mounts while is Blizzard going on a price-gouge marathon. And until WoW is free-to-play, with no more sub costs or expansion costs, it should remain that way.

If it wasn’t purchase-able for in game gold which it is by token, then I could see being upset.
I was planning on getting to 5mil hold in case they brought back the original. This is simply better.

I try not to pay attention to gold sinks because I never have gold, but I assume this mount has a gold price as well as a dollar price?
If that’s the case you have to set the dollar price high enough to encourage people to spend the gold.
In BFA, the brutosaur got a lot of backlash because the gold was equal to over 300 dollars in tokens. But you need gold sinks and repair costs aren’t enough. Auctionhouse sales just move gold around. This mount only works as a gold sinks if it is only available for gold or if the dollar price is significantly high enough to encourage people to spend gold. I think it should be the former but people understandably feel that the 300 dollars is too much to pay and the point of the tokens is to make some things more accessible to people who have more money than time, and offset the real dollar costs of gaming for people who have more time than money (and make the game more secure from gold farmers).

I’m not buying the mount nor am I using the gold to buy it. I don’t care about the mount, but I care about Blizzard ripping its players off, and that’s exactly what this mount is.
You can continue to cope over the matter by slinging comments trying to explain why this is okay. I can assure you that you won’t be able to convince me, because there’s no argument to give that justifies why a mount should be $90 lol

The anniversary sucks, the game is riddled with bugs, and now this week, sometimes multiple times a day they are asking us for money while the gameplay is lacking.
The time that went into a ton of the crap suckers are falling for is showing Blizzard, that this state of mess is ok, because tthat is the nature of money. What you spend money on says you are ok with the practices of that company.
They heard people loud and clear.
Then, to make it all worse, then kick people again for more money for charity while some show that shows what community in this game used to be like.
