New Brutosaur is CHEAP - why are people mad?

True, but they yanked it from the game for some reason. Still don’t understand why they did that. The spider from Legion is still in game, as is the yak from panada land.

Don’t remember any other extremely pricey mount.

The mental gynmastics on display here are far and away the largest I’ve seen performed on these forums lol

At this point I’m convinced that anyone trying to justify the price of this mount are overwhelmed with a deep amount of buyer’s remorse, because why else would you put this much effort into doing so unless you’ve been confronted with the reality that you were ripped off lmao

If they didn’t make it higher than a normal shop mount those who put in the time to raise the gold to get the old one would be mad.

People don’t like FOMO. They also don’t like money purchased pets be it gold or cash. We want things we earn by playing not earn by saving up money or spending cash. It feels cheap and aimed at whales not at players. What don’t you get?

90 dollars.
thats why.
its a dangerous line that they climb closer and closer to a massive amount for pixels.

Is that the objection? The expiration date on the sale?

The more I read on the topic the more confused I am as to why people are so grumpy over this.

Read the whole post, or don’t bother replying.

The idea that you don’t understand why people don’t like microtransactions is crazy.

Licks you “I dunno, you tell me…”

As for buggy content, a last little gift from Kotick and the rest who used to work at Blizz, it takes time even for a business as large as they are to actually put through and patch stuff, this expansion was ready to go long before Kotick got kicked in December.

I’m sure they tried to adjust what was going out the door last minute, but when you have the schedule the devs do with the financial department breathing down their neck, all they can be is the horrified chef as a waiter carts an order out wrong or before it’s ready.

I have been reading the posts on the topic and it is a lot more than just “I don’t like micro-transactions”.

Not sure what there’s to be confused about. The mount cost $90, triple what the average mount costs and nearly double what an expansion costs. Is it that hard to understand lol

It’s all about appearances. If they would have released this mount at 1.5 million gold, nobody bats an eye, even though the sales rate would have been nearly identical (everyone who paid $ would have bought tokens, the people who bought tokens with gold would have bought with gold)

But when you see that big $90 figure and realize that you’re buying an in game item for more than a brand new video game would cost, it’s wait a minute, that’s really expensive. It’s only “cheap” in comparison to the last Brutosaur mount, if you bought the mount fully in token-sourced gold.

And there really weren’t that many people who did that - most of the people I knew who had it were either goblins, or were a significant part of the way there already, they bought 5-10 tokens, not 30-40

Yes, that is true, but you could lower the price with gold, or buy it with gold outright. I only just found out we could do that yesterday and was quite tickled because I agree, $90 for a mount is pretty steep.

They can’t afford it cuz they don’t work.

I would prefer the mount either not exist at all or be earnable in-game the same way every other mount was obtained during events (brewmaster ram/kodo, headless horseman mount, etc. etc.). It could have been a cool addition to the game but is instead emblematic of Blizzard’s endless desire to milk their players lmao

You have 3 months to acrue what I make in 2 hours. You can do it if you really want it.

I don’t work currently. but I can afford $90 dollars multiple times over, I just don’t care about a mount that being an engineer and having a garrison gives me free access to anything it does and that people paid money for for free with little to no inconvenience.

People are really in here acting like they just bought a glamorous designer bag and not an overpriced mount for a video game lol

People tend to forget that, unless your wealth is hereditary, being FRUGAL or smart in investing an initial amount is how you not only make…but more specifically keep and compound, money…

Cause money sitting in savings is nice and all, but it devalues with inflation, if not compounded your savings just sit there being worth less and less until you actually eventually lose money.

My view on droprates is this: 9-10%? Okay, that’s roughly 1/10 chance every time. Less than 1% which is our usual? Yeah…nope, them virtually impossible odds.

That is a valid point, but if it was a drop for example, the forum would be loaded with complaints about low drop rates.

I think either way they went with it, some faction of people were going to be unhappy.

Don’t misunderstand me, I am not defending store mounts or their decision to put it in the shop. Just being realistic.

Of all the things I’ve seen thrown around the forums defending the mount, the whole “it’s because they don’t work and don’t have any money” is the funniest thing, because it couldn’t be more inaccurate.

Like, it’s because I work, have a career, and have a decent salary that I’m able to recognize what a waste of money this thing is. I know the value of my dollar, and it’s certainly not best spent on a mount that I know I’ll use for two weeks before I take it off my hotbar in exchange for another mount, never to be used again until two years later when I remember I have it lol

Live-service games have absolutely rotted the brains of gamers.
