i have fond memories of timeless isle. i got the mount and the firewatcher title. it was a simple but fun concept, you pop the curse, marking yourself as hostile and allowing my lifelong dream of being able to kill horde or alliance at the same time. i spent so many hours farming coins and it was probably the most fun i’ve had this xpac.
a few months ago we all had to merge to “mega servers” and the largest pop option for me was a pve server.
cut to timeless isle, i pop the curse, and NO ONE is pvp flagged. defeating the purpose and eliminating any potential fun left in this xpac.
No, he’s complaining about the fact that blizzard force merged everyone to a mass PvE realm and there is no currently populated PvP realm to even be on which has ruined timeless isle PvP. I was on Benediciton (a populated pvp realm) before the merge, but then Blizzard forced us to merge to the massive PvE realms and killed Grob with their incompetence.
If anything, Blizzard needed to fix the no active PvP realm issue, or force flag every single player on Timeless isle for PvP.
I feel this. I was really looking forward to Timeless Isle, but the merges really screwed it up. I am still on Grobb and there is occasionally some wPvP action, but it’s rare since the majority of players bailed to Pagle. It’s been a massive disappointment.
There were free realm changes for bene, faerlina, and whitemane, to move to grobb. All the pvper’s could’ve gone there if they wanted world pvp.
You guys didn’t HAVE to go to pagle.
You guys CHOOSE to go to pagle because grobb had already been seriously in decline population wise LONG before the merge. PVE guilds had started leaving in Cata because the recruitment pool was drying out and the AH was empty.
Like, are you really going to tell me that with Grobb’s pop being under 5k (total) prior to the transfers that it was really a desirable choice regardless? Of course it wasn’t. But you could’ve gone. All you guys so desperate for wpvp could’ve gone.
And so, when not enough of you went, they gave free xfers off Grobb 4 months later because, it turns out, you guys didn’t want wpvp bad enough.
Typical in many MMOs that have both PvE and PvP. The PvP players tend to be noisier than the PvE players but also they have a far lesser concentration span and tend to get bored and bail out much faster. Studies in multiple MMOs show that PvP players tend to be younger - significantly - and thus less mature - which explains many things. Many are just as mature but the average age is lower and this drives overall behavior.

Since even the 2019 exodus when paid transfers were an option people took to get off the even then imbalanced faer and bene setup, we heard well merge faer and bene! But they wanted it free. 2019 exodus dudes for the costs of their paid moves got to enjoy events like tbc quel’danaa battle royale for a week or at least lol.
Mop did that. the free merger was to pvp grobb. And we saw who many took it.
Even in wrath when dudes had this idea of merge the 99% I was asking one question. So….who is the home server and who is the merged. factoring in 2 more variables. Grobb and whitemane. Blizzard was going to do 1 solution, for all.
MOP we found out, it was grobb lol. They wanted free pvp moves, but not to THAT server apparently.
