WTF are you talking about? I’m not a new player and I don’t have to be to see how idiotic this is. This thread is about Blizzard’s restriction policy. It doesn’t stop gold sellers. It doesn’t even slow them down. All this policy does is place an unfair burden on new players.
Not hard to understand.

It’s amazing how many of you are blinded by status quo bias. The restrictions aren’t actually achieving their intended purpose; the supposed loss of security you propose in changing this policy doesn’t exist. What does it actually cost you to either shut the f up when people challenge the status quo on this specific issue or, by some crazy chance (as some of you have, thank you), support a change?

See the thing is… Restrictions like the ones we have need to be increased to 6 months and have a human only way to remove the trade restrictions so that bots dont get past it.
or another more insane change would be to remove the ability for WoW tokens to buy sub which continues the bots lifespan through farmed gold buying the tokens from players(making blizzard tons of money) and selling services or accounts then the leftover gold to players.
I for one vote for even more harsh restrictions on new accounts that CAN be removed by the new player if they prove through various steps they are human. How is that wrong to suggest?

If we were confident in a person actually looking into the account a longer restriction with a way to remove would make sense.
But we both know that would not be the case.

wrong. it does stop gold sellers. what you meant to say was “it doesn’t stop ALL gold sellers”, which no policy can possibly do. it’s all cumulative. the GDKP ban is the same way.
both policies hurt legitimate players, but they make life harder for gold buyers. you have to accept both policies and do your part to fight RMT simple as
Maybe if they didn’t wait till Naxx in 2019 to hand out bans it wouldn’t of gotten so out of hand.
I would just keep opening tickets or keep existing tickets open

And bog down the support system when people with actual fixable problems exist? No.
You want to make a point about this go to twitter and get people to repost, share and like your post.

Ye should start posting every single congo line of bots there too.
You’re arguing the impact of not being able to trade or us AH for 26 days. Your argument is that it has minimal impact. You are wrong.
Quitting isn’t the answer for an obviously flawed policy. Blizzard fixing it is. But this is also the wow community in a nutshell. Sh1tty solution to gold buyers/bots = ‘‘you should quit the game’’.
In case it’s not clear, which seems likely with you. No AH/Trading/Mailing for 26 days hugely impacts the game, especially when leveling and suggesting to ‘‘quit and get a refund’’ is idiotic.
Also considering I am 99% sure I’ve already encountered bots AND gold seller are already advertising, it’s safe to conclude this policy does absolutely nothing to combat the issues.

This. Actually hilarious how some fail to see this. This doesn’t combat bots or gold buying in the slightest. Not if they aren’t actively banning bots and gold sellers which doesn’t seem to be the case.

yeah except you have no idea you are just guessing. blizzard has the data, and i trust them that this is helping. if it really wasn’t, they wouldn’t bother.
I have eyes and a brain. You seem to be missing the brain part.

Would you mind quoting me on that? I don’t believe that that is my argument. Nor do I believe I am intending to argue in general here.
I don’t know why you are defending the company, and suggesting that the OP keep paying for a monthly subscription just to post complaints about an issue he won’t even keep having after the 26 day restriction is up, but it doesn’t seem like a reasonable thing to suggest.
I suppose it certainly can. Although, the restrictions seem to actually be no purchasing from the AH, and no giving others in trades. Buying from the AH and receiving gold, items, etc. seems like it is within the abilities of someone who may be facing this.
Anyway, as it stands, if any of my family or friends purchased something that they were completely unhappy with, my advice to them would be to immediately request a refund, and to not use it.
That is pretty normal, and regular advice for such a situation from my perspective.

ok but by that logic the GDKP ban isn’t working at all either
I know you love extrapolating and coming up with insane conclusions. So I’m going to respond with ‘‘ok’’.

It’s very unlikely they are. They waited till Naxx in 2019.
just accept you’re a hypocrite
