Some people aren’t capable of doing that. I love some aspects of Chinese culture, but their government blows hard.

Because they have a very humble culture. The government takes advantage of that, and it’s not like they don’t protest. Their protests are actually kind of interesting, they think of new ways to disrupt things. The communist party is just too big for them to just simply overthrow. They’re not America.

That is very sadly, not new. There are times there are fewer incidents, and times there are a surge of issues. Depends on what gets reported as to how bad it seems. There has been a rise in hate crimes over the past 6+ years though, and additional ones due to COVID.
Reading US history can be both sad and enlightening.
