Eh, Spymaster’s Web can be one of these if you just never activate the use effect. It’s not optimal, but it still qualifies as a completely passive trinket in this instance.
PvP trinkets for affliction are pretty fire tho.

Err, you still use mind blast near enough on cooldown as archon btw. Like that trinket doesn’t change your casting priority at all.
The trinket is dumb and bad, just wanted to clarify this point though.
I often stick with the Conq PvP trinkets until something better drops, at least as DPS. They’re just…good. Decent secondary stat, good primary stat boost with low downtime, it’s just a nice streamlined boost that you can easily sync to CDs.
I usually put it even lower priority than Mind Flay, honestly. Standing around in a hard cast for maybe a bit more damage than Mind Flay in the same time frame was a hard ask. Granted that’s because I also didn’t take Mind Devourer on the build I ended up sticking with. Those talent picks end up being a premium.
My build probably isn’t optimal but it seems like it’s doing damage well enough in what instances I’m doing, delves and PvP so 
If it ain’t broke, I say.
Really I wanted to focus more on the convoluted trinket design that seems to have been building up over time, and keeps building up over time.
You still always try to keep the cd rolling as a priority. Remember mind blast also makes an apparition.
Yeah I mean spellforge is just a bad version of anvil from Aberrus, which was a premiere melee DPS trinket. This version is just worse in every single way.

I keep forgetting about the spirits. I’ll mess with the build a bit, still got an hour of work left. I’m happy to have the in game downtime to mess around with specs I haven’t touched or played in a hot minute.
Same. I always roll with conquest gear, unless I happened to really like the pve set.
Even then, I usually unequip it and just use it as a transmog.
PvP scales better for PvE. So unless you plan on running mythics, there’s little to no reason to go for PvE gear.

I’ve rec’d this 2x now as my TW reward, but I refuse to use it. Besides being too complicated for me, who wants a healer than runs a risk of getting stunned at random times? No thanks, hard pass from me.
