It is busted because of the mastery and it will be nerfed. It’s just a matter of when.
BM gets brought up every time when talking about easy specs. The fact that movement has literally no effect on it’s damage is why it should always do lower dps.
Aoe (precast living flame if time allows)
Shatter star - dragon rage - tip scales - fire breath - eternity surge - pyre and use living flame/azure strike for pyre procs - repeat
There are variations depending on buffs but that’s the basic rotation.
Which is affected by dampening and can be dispelled. The ACTUAL hot really. Because the ‘buff’ itself isn’t dispelled but the HoT for the damage is.
Also affected by dampening
This is never taken for that.
It’s just a dispel and a heal.
I mean you did forget about O.scales with a 30% DR reduction and makes it impossible for us to interrupt. along with Null Shroud to make us immune to 3 CC effects.
All of this sounds good…until you run into something that can always catch you.
All of your defensives are useless unless you pop them pre-emptively or you cross your fingers and hope you don’t die within the first five seconds.
Again, Renewing blaze is a purgable, so is Null Shroud. These things are good against classes with 1-2 stuns or CCs but IT MUST BE HARD CASTED FIRST. This is why it’s good in the arena form at as is and not in places like Open world or just duels in general.
Shield needs someone around for it to matter.
Zephyr is a waste of a talent overall outside of M+. Even then its uses are probably niche at best.
The only thing Devoker has is just Damage and nothing else. You take that away and Devo has Nothing to give to a raid or any other content setting. Because everything can be covered by just having Prevoker or Augvoker around.
First, you left out Eternity Surge, which is the hardest hitting spell they have now.
Then you left out Deep Breathe.
Then you left out Dragonrage, which is the #1 priority cooldown.
You also left out Shattering Star.
Disintegrate using the same resource as Pyre, so the fact you think you use it on AoE baffles me. You use Pyre all the time if there’s 4+ targets, with 3- targets, you use Disintegrate only when you have Essence Burst procs in order to empower Eternity Surge and Shattering Star through another talent.
Azure Strike is still a dps loss on 2 targets. On 3 or more targets you use it only if you have a specific talent, otherwise you use Living Flame. And even then, there’s times you would still prioritize Living Flame. (Instant cast procs and such).
This post just shows us you know nothing about Devastation Evoker and took one second looking at a guide and thought you knew everything.
The problem is, Devastation is performing well above everyone else because of the legendary - they can’t tune the class around the legendary because that would unfairly punish those who don’t have the legendary.
I GUARANTEE you aren’t seeing the evokers you are seeing in the logs on warcraftlogs in every dungeon you run. If you say you are, I am 100% willing to tell you to your face you are lying.
Can we just leave Devastation Evokers alone, I mean they are the new class so what if they’re doing good numbers? Add in they’re getting a new spec which for all we know may do even higher numbers given it debuffs foes and buffs allies so foes are suffering a lot more than usual because of them and I’d imagine that’d mean bigger numbers
Actually, if a class is easier play, it should do less damage. It’s the whole risk to reward balance.
If class A is easy to play and is top damage, but class B is harder to play and only does mid-pack damage, why play class B? Why work harder for less reward when you can do less work and be rewarded more?
It also should be said that classes that have more control, utility, and self sustainability should also do less damage than classes that are more bare bones, but that’s a discussion for another thread.
I feel like I’m gonna have to keep reiterating that Devo is barebones with not much utility outside of class talents and only does so much damage in content because of this.
I heard Nerf DH… Just saying my ears are great and that is all I heard the Warlock demanding. Oh and while we are at it give another class Soulstones and Summon. KK THX!
I always love you try hards making an easy spec out to be harder than it actually is. I confused eternity surge with disintigrate and thats about it. I did the same thing you did when the class came out, made one, got bored and went back to my warlock here. The point being is ive seen devokers out in 175k overall and if ret paladin wasnt seeing those numbers on their rework and going into 10.1 demo sure as hell wasnt seeing that its a wonder why people werent calling for nerfs for them sooner.
One thing ill omit to is that under performing classes SHOULD get buffed. Lets start with demo being out done by destro on the lock meters and ret middle of the pack for Raid and only slightly above for M+ the point being is that if I can wake up one morning nursing a hangover and pump out insane numbers on devoker then maybe a kick in the teeth is in order
