In classic D&D Gold Dragons were the goodies of the good metallic scaled races of Dragonkind just as the Reds were the vilest of the evil ones.
Pathfinder was originally a clone of Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 when Hasbro/WOTC switched to 4th edition created by Paizo who were the last print publishers of Dragon and Dungeon Magazines. Adventure Paths are six book campaigns that typically take players from 1st to 17th (sometimes 20th) level. The adventure Path I’m referring to was created for the massively changed 2nd edition of the game… it was called Age of Ashes and the dragon referred o was Mengkare, a long standing NPC in the world of Golarion. What’s really neat about this path is that the character evolution of this character is HEAVILY influenced by the actions that the players do throughout the series and I’m not exaggerating the wide spectrum of final results this character can become.
