and this time i just can’t care about yet ANOTHER fomo from them. i’ve missed enough now that if i don’t enjoy the activity, i can live without the reward. they need to up their bribe, or better yet, STOP with the fomo crap.

The characters are actually very much based on wow characters. Clearly. Didn’t play bfa? Feeehold? All the pirates? Speaking of that pirates have always been pretty prevalent in wow. They also use the same exact archetypes as well. I could drone on a lists of I told you so but honestly what’s the point.
Fomo only exists if you care. Fomo hinges on the person feeling like they need it.
I think what they both have in common is that the people in charge of HOTS made a ton of terrible decisions, yes.
Hots was a fun game they just decided to compare and try to compete with dota and league instead of branching into something different.
What did this patch bring other than this game? That’s more than enough proof right there.
How are we supposed to interpret a “secret wow patch 10.2.6”?
plunderstorm isnt for everyone and isnt what people expected or wanted it to be. and internet does what internet does best especially on the forums complain.

I don’t think plunderstorm is a direct or even trying to be a competitor but just a fun little game mode in wow. I think the premise of it isn’t supposed to be serious. Although i don’t work with blizzard so what would I know
The only reason to announce it was a limited-time event was to nudge people to actually play it, when they knew that otherwise people wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole, yes.

and i’ve lost that “need” feeling completely. i want the blue parrot, but i have 3 others so i’ll make do since i just don’t enjoy plunderstorm enough to get it =\

No one is forcing you to read their posts.
Limited time and putting mounts/pets/mogs in it will guarantee participation. It’s literally textbook FOMO tactics.

Yeah it happens I’m sure they’ll add it to the store or better yet the trading post or maybe a twitch drop. Doubt it’ll be gone for ever

It does make me feel good to prove stubborn people wrong.
And it would be fine if people were actually happy with the broader game in general. But people are pretty livid, these days, and more so than normal. Subs have plummeted, and all Blizzard’s staff ever do is mug for the cameras in softball “interviews” with their favorite streamers they shove cash prizes to on the side.
