Unique spell with adequate levels of counterplay. Probably worth keeping in the game. Tune it instead of removing
Upping the cooldown might do the trick. Making it only impact single target spells might be nice too. Missing a spell i very clearly aimed with a casting reticle is really irritating and counterintuitive design
its a quick cast so easy to bait a kick for precog so thats what makes it annoying imo
half the time it lands when you’re around a corner or behind the paladin
toxic ability for those of us on oce playing with burgers on 10ms
It can be kicked, it can be cleansed, it can be removed by several abilities and it has a low duration with a decent cooldown as far as any other cc goes. The ability is fine honestly.
In fact it should be buffed to actually work on pets too, or at least BM pets specifically.
Searing glare inherently isn’t a huge deal, but it lasts too long for the current 45 sec CD imo. Should be a little shorter. It also can’t be grounded, reflected, etc.
Having this on a class which can immune all magic damage and zug someone down with all their CDs up, or bubble and zug, just to have literally zero counterplay isnt fun.
Maybe I’m crazy, but I actually think glare is fine?? Short range, has a CD, castable and when kicked stops healing, dispelable, short duration.
It’s actually risky to use. It’s balanced but risky. If you get holy locked during that moment when you’re trying to relieve pressure, it’s over.
To add to all the things others are saying in defense of glare here:
every spec has 2 globals worth of offheals, party buffs, self buffs, defensives, etc to use if you don’t have any hard or soft counters for the glare
Pala runs precog and baits kicks for total cc immunities. Its not balanced
Gives you something to kick so nah, it’s fine. I think the people who hate it are just melee players. It’s a w/e for me.
I’m a melee and I think it’s good spell expression. I also think it’s fun to try and dodge it at the last second. Out of all the things to complain about pallies this ain’t it.
I think it should be a ret only pvp talent, I think giving this kind of ability to healers is oppressive

its awful and of course as a warrior main i get glared 6 or 7 times a shuffle if theres a ret AND an hpala in the lobby double it idk why they just glare the poor warrior whos getting kited by ranged classes that cant be slowed or stunned
I can assure you, the only class who can kite a warr is a mage, if your getting kited by anything else your using your mobility insanely wrong.

I played on 250 ms for the longest time then something happened and 150 ms became my new average and it was a night and day difference. That’s still laggy for their standards though
the closest I ever got to 0 ms was running, AHEM watching someone run a local wow server (for R&D purposes). It’s like the abilities go off before you even press them. It’s actually INSANE
I can’t believe this ability hasn’t already been nerfed or pruned. It just adds to the micro cc chain that is already too long.
Searing glare isn’t a problem. Easy to play around…Whining about non-issues.
