Sims 4 is a lot of fun, especially if you add in challenges like Not so Berry or the 100 Baby. Black Widow is one of the funnest challenges I’ve done.
The Yakuza games are also really great. They have a serious aspect to them, but they’re not super heavy and there’s loads of really comical wtf moments haha
Not sure how I forgot about those. Theres like nine of them. Going to have to dust them off as well.
You have some great taste with these picks. KOTOR 1 ruined me on game twists. Dragon Age Series is good. Especially the first one. Storywise the second and third are meh but the magic system is fairly good.
The rest are fantastic as well for old school party based rpgs minus the witcher of course since its solo mainly which is good too.
I’ve been enjoying Dragons Dogma 2. You better have a very beefy PC though.
Every time my NPC followers complain “Master, must we run everywhere???” I laugh and silently say “yesssss!”.
I have somewhat of a decent comp. It plays DD2 decently. Havent played too much into it as of yet because I am waiting for when you can actually delete a save and start a new game without having to go into the files to do so…and without paying lol.
i havent played sims 4 much recently but ive really been into sims 2
i did what i suppose is a rags to riches challenge where i started at $1 and tried to survive and earn as much as possible
through lots of digging for treasure and questionable ethics regarding pet labor, i became pretty wealthy with a lovely house
at the moment im building a neighborhood, just have a few houses left to build
Yes those challenges can be fun (and frustrating) lmao I started a RTR legacy challenge going through each pack in order but I abandoned it because I have commitment issues
final fantasy series or star ocean second story if on steam.
I’m playing FF7: Rebirth right now but it’s only on PS5 currently. FF7: Remake is on PC though and it was great.
BG3, though you’ll be controlling more than just the mage.
This one is a bit out of left field, but Warframe. You run short-ish missions, but there are definitely a few frames that could be classified as mages.
When I previously quit WoW, I initially had a lot of trouble getting into any single player games. Nothing grabbed me, everything overwhelmed me. I wanted to play a game with an ending point, but at the same time only grindy, open-ended games had any appeal. I felt really conditioned to the MMO formula at the time, and it wasn’t making me very happy.
The game that eventually stuck and broke me free was Horizon Zero Dawn. The first 10 or so hours were slow, but then I couldn’t put it aside. By now there is also a sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, but I’d still start with the first game because the second game continues the story seamlessly.
A lot of my enjoyment came from not knowing anything about the game’s lore and discovering what had happened in the game’s world. All the lore bits (notes, fliers, recordings) really enhanced the experience for me.
Skyrim would be my goto.
Ff7 remake was 10/10. I really enjoyed that game.
Homeworld 3, if you like space based RTS.
Also recommend Homeworld and Homeworld 2.
My Recommendations would be:
-
Dragon’s Dogma 2 (currently playing and very good)
-
Gauntlet (cheap and fun, reminds me of baulder’s gate: dark alliance)
-
Baulder’s gate: Dark Alliance
-
Witcher 3 (You’ve probably already played it, but it’s arguably the best rpg released as of late, if not ever depending on who you ask)
-
Forspoken (I enjoyed the demo when I played, but i’d try to grab on sale)
-
Atlas Fallen (currently on steam wishlist, too busy with other stuff to pick up)
-
Avowed (unreleased)
If you’re interested in time killers that might not necessarily fit the genre, I would also recommend:
-
Ready or Not (think old SWAT games)
-Zero Hour is a cheaper version, but it’s nowhere near as polished -
Helldivers 2 (I don’t want to recommend this game because of a number of reasons mainly stability issues for me personally as well as the anti-cheat, but it’s not complete trash for the price or versus what else is on the market)
-
Sons of the Forest
-
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon (Wildlands or Breakpoint; they’re very open world and allow you to do pretty much anything within reason)
-
Any of the Metro Games (Redux, Last Light Redux, Exodus)
I should add that they added the ability to create a new game this week (PC version) without extra steps.
Still sort of silly to only have ONE active game slot on the menu. Oh well, but it’s progress!
Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty
Wasteland 2 and 3
Project Zomboid
Necesse
Days Gone(lite RPG elements, definitely worth a play through though)
Gedonia
Shadowrun Returns, Dragonfall, and Hong Kong
Underrail
Well obviously, Solitaire. Single player is right there in the name.
I’m replaying dragon age inquisition! I suggest u look at the dragon age series starting with origins! Love the game and the lore and its very rpg heavy! Alot of exploring and classes too! Enjoy
Dalish mage forevea!
