Why Warmode got another Chest this expansion which gives the first 5 people either a guaranted or a chance at a Socket item among other rewards alongside the regular Warmode Cache is failure in my Eyes. I don’t know the total Warmode vs non Warmode numbers but I would have to assume PvE numbers are Higher otherwise PvP would not be able to benefit from the 2 chests above *Granted the normal Warmode Cache i am fine with Don’t mistake me disliking that one.
But this Unbound Spols Chest being a Warmode Specific chest and not Having a PvE Equivalent has pushed my tolerance for Blizzard and there inability to make both Play styles have equal chances when it comes to “Exclusive” things like this. Granted PvE have chests etc all over the zones but they only offer the same crap that the Wax piles offer which are in the same phase for PvP. What I am basically getting at is that a Chest that spawns every 6 Hours and gives an item that puts sockets for PvP gear and PvE are limited to one socket a Week from a vault option for gear or to pick the currency to buy a socket *Mind you should not cost 6 4 at most 3 at least so players can pick 1 socket or 2 sockets a week if they are fully geared and do not need Crest items. Seems only Fair to me and not all players would be knowledgeable enough to do this on the regular as in Casuals to a degree and having fully socketed and gemmed gear is laughably not broken if anyone is going to say that in a reply here its just going to put PvE players on the same Socket range as PvP players who will swim in these Socket items before PvE players get theres sorted.
So either add a PvE Chest which has the same Rules as the Unbound Spoils as in first come first serve as in fastest clicker wins then all will be good. Just need to stop ignoring PvE oriented players with this One sided Bias. And Honestly who enjoys PvP other than a very small minority as in those that Blind to anythingelse in th game that PvP is all they think about that is not what needs a helping hand in the game since gearing for them in my opinion is way faster than PvE *as in a casual player will be blitzed by a casual to more permanent PvP player any day.
I’ll be honest, I feel like I’m in Warmode trying to get the Supply Drop of reading this post and this wall of text is perma-stun locking me.

We already got them.
The PvE ‘chests’ that reward the first people that get there are:
Dirt piles
Mining Nodes
Herbalism Nodes
Fishing pools
Rare mobs
If you’re the last person someone sees interacting with it and they miss it, you might end up with Whisper PvP all the same.

95% of all overworld is PvE content.
You don’t need the chest, because the content is your chest.
We only get these chests, because it’s interently PvE content with a sprinkle of PvP (crates) dusted onto it every now and again.
The inverse of this, is if in Battlegrounds and Arenas, or in World PvP areas, there was a airdrop for PvE gear and crests/valorstones- you know how badly that’d turn out lmao.
If PvE players were forced into those scenarios for gear, they’d riot.
I don’t know how pvp gearing works anymore, if it’s changed that is, but from what I do remember pve players have a few different avenues of gearing up, and for pvp players it’s pretty static. Is that still the case? If so, it would make sense that something like this exists for that playerbase.
Yeah the point I’m trying to get at and not doing a great job of articulating is that everyone should have some spice in how they obtain gear nowadays. It’s now the norm for pve players to have many ways of getting what they “need”, pvp players should get more of that.
Want a pvp reward? Then put you big pants on and pvp.
The chests are just one of the incentive for WPvP, the deadest form of PvP that hasn’t been outright removed from the game yet. I don’t think the crates are really considered required by any means either, if anything it could have been an early advantage first day of the season to get conquest capped before doing arena but they were still at the same conquest cap.
If anything, crates are better for PvE players to get PvP gear for transmog without doing PvP, though I’m still on the boat of just PvPing for PvP rewards instead of chasing boxes, the only way to win the box race as a solo horde player on the server that shards with MG on warmode is to either abandon the solo play and build up a raid group (near-impossible at my hours) or be at a crate that the Alliance doesn’t show up at.
Either way, it doesn’t really matter because the OP’s exaggerations, I managed to get three crates that weren’t swamped by Alliance raids all expansion and not a single one of them had a socket, not even a fraction of a socket or a blood jewel.
Yeah, they’re good when starting out or as catch-up, but not much more than that.
Once you’re fully geared, there’s little reason to go after them unless you’re wanting the PvP meta achievements or something.
My Horde characters could still use them, but my Alliance no longer has need for conquest anymore, had access to way too many crates while playing lol.
Be me, looking at Warlock alt and PvP set colors, looking at Horde flag, looking at crates.
Yeah, it’d be faster to roll a Moon Guard warlock, level to 80, then just fly to random chests and pick them up for free, even while undergeared than it would be to try and get them on my horde warlock, but that is also boring and if I wanted to I’d just do more daily BG wins (I started for a little bit, then had the big sad when I crafted the wrong item with the free conquest crafting stuff and quit bothering with it).
