Need more faction conflict

The “care bear” servers that people actually played on vs the PvP servers that no one did and that’s why Blizzard got rid of them? Those servers?

The way the current story is represented I am surprised they are not all holding hands and singing its a small world.

How many centuries have their been faction conflicts IRL???

Agreed. Horde vs Alliance forever

18 years was enough. Give it a rest for awhile.

The factions united back in wc3… we’re tired. Instead slowly join the two factions but show strife like humans vs undead conflict of being undead and loved ones. Trolls and elves original ancestry so many other good story lines. :cloud_with_rain: tiny struggles and battles etc.

It’s -VERY- hard to have a Horde vs Alliance conflict when we’ve made peace with one another like three or four times now. BFA killed the faction conflict entirely when the Horde got reamed into being “Genocidal bad guys” faction and Alliance into the “We can do no wrong, ever” faction.

Horde players love being the bad guys for sure perhaps, but the modern Horde always brushed being like…morally grey and neutral evil I guess, and Alliance players wanted to get more dirty and gritty and be the ones doing actual bad stuff for once, but we got hardly any of that.

That halfway through we made peace again and BFA an Old Godd expansion.

Faction conflict should be actively based on current political conflict with the U.S.! Just cuz, tis Murica!

I do feel like culture wars is one reason I’m not feeling eager for faction conflict. I feel like “enough already!”. Too much tribalism in real life. Too much making excuses to fight each other. Too much othering, too much us vs them.

I think most of us would be fine with separate PvP servers. Did Blizz ever give an official reason for moving away from those?

You know there was a brief period where I embraced the new war mode at the beginning of BfA. I felt it suited the theme of the expansion and I’m all about immersion when I’m gaming. I even tried to convince others in forums to give it a chance. The reason I lost interest was that the game play never fit the fantasy. It never felt like strategic maneuvers between opposing factions.

And I think you’re wrong to assume people who opt out are afraid or carebears or whatever. It’s just boring. There’s no game play to getting chain-CC’d by five players then rezzing to do it over again, especially when you were in middle of story-quest-line that was actually interesting. There’s no satisfaction in ganging up to gank someone either. Most of us would rather save PvP for battlegrounds and arenas where there’s some balance and actual strategy involved.
