Necrolord the demo covenant?

Is Night Fae still the highest dps covenant or has necrolord been boosted up the ranks?

Every log i’ve seen has night fae at the top of all three specs. Not only are the soulbinds amazing (ability not so much), soulshape only will make it stay BiS. You can’t do damage while you’re dead and soulshape has saved my life countless times. Not only that, it lets you ignore every mechanic between it and demonic circle, which can add +5 seconds each time to dps windows instead of running for your life and doing do damage.

Necrolord decimating bolt sims better for single target for Destro but not demo.

Soul Rot sims slightly behind for single target and jumps ahead on multi target.

That alone makes both viable options. However soulrot is good for all three specs compared to DB being relatively weak for affliction.

Then you factor in Niya gives bonus health for demo.

Add in soulshape and NF pulls ahead. Necro is viableand playable if that’s your preference.

Pretty much ur main stat is stamina for Demo. The more health you have, the health for your demons, for more of your Tyrant to drain thx to Demonic Consumption talent.

This just shows you don’t really know how demo works.

Nightfae is the best demo covenant.

What? No
Stamina adds certainly but is weaker than virtually all stats for demo

Where do people get this?

Yes nf is still best for demo
Even if nl wins on paper it’ll be st only and nf is slightly behind on st (possibly) and significantly better in all other situations including mobility with the blink.

You do realize you have other important abilities that isn’t all about Tyrant, right? Your main stat for any class that does any damage/healing is Strength, Agility or Intellect depending on your class. Then secondaries. Then stamina if it is deeps related. Then tertiary.

That being said, it seriously pains me to say this but if I have to recommend a covenant for Warlocks, even Demo locks exclusively, it’d have to be Night Fae.

I believe Necrolord Soulbinds got a little bit shafted (Especially poor Emeni) along with ST application of Decimating Bolt. Soulshape is also really good as I feel grounded as a NL Warlock.

The only reason why I chose to stay in NL is because I simply don’t like the theme of a Night Fae Warlock for a character. Swapping Covenant means I’ll have to give up my Warlock looking like Kerrigan from Starcraft. :frowning:

Lowkey hoping NL somehow shapes up to be best for Destro because their xmog this time around is one of the best sets I’ve seen in the game.

OR… just remove the xmog restrictions from the sets. Lemme buy them all with anime power and then use the other cov mogs.

I think you may have misunderstood, I’m absolutely saying that night fae remains BiS for demo. In fact, it’s BiS for all three!

technically speaking, Marileth with Kevin’s Oozeling Capstone will be a higher single target gain for demo than Niya or Dreamweaver.

Now, single target isn’t everything, and Nightfae have a lot of nice to haves associated with it.

Even if Fleshcraft is amazing defensive CD, Soulshape can just flat out ignore mechanics and save you from certain instant death (Think Painsmith)

Emeni falls behind rly hard as a soulbind and Heimir while good is more of a weaker Dreamweaver.

The garden is also an amazing way to farm for resources, while Abomination factory is more of a mini-game.

I’ll have to test Kevin’s Oozeling as well as the rest of soulbind abilities that Marileth have in comparison to Heirmir this upcoming week and see how it feels. Mnemonic Equipment seems lackluster and it seems like Heirmir just got seriously shafted.

Not surprising given how Marrowed Gemstone is a VERY STRONG soulbind trait. Strong enough to be chosen over Tyrant Soul which I was happy to discover.

Really hope that Necrolords have something better in future patches in terms of Soulbinds. All the other covenant soulbinds seem stronger than the Necrolords imo.

Mnemonic don’t just looks like its lackluster.

It IS lackluster.

The replication effect on Demonology only works for Shadow Bolt, Hand of Guldan and Demonbolt, none of your demon-based damage will trigger mnemonic.

so instead of a 2~3% damage increase , its more of a 0.3% damage increase.

Heimir is still good because Marrowed Gemstone is very strong and Carver’s Eye is decent-ish.

I also want to echo this. The NF garden lowkey prints small amounts of money for very little time investment. The other covenants have mini-games, like the Ember Court, that while fun just don’t produce the same volume of resources for how much time you’re spending on them.

I’m thinking about trying Marileth for Kevin’s Oozeling. It looks SOLID.

It’d be interesting to bring back Tyrant’s Soul in place of Marrowed Gemstone. I’ve been getting a lot of mastery on my warlock lately.

Mnemonic Equipment should be changed into something else. It just looks terrible.

So…FYI this was 22h ago…12h ago blizzard hotfixed Dreamweaver Dream Delver…who now works for demonology pet damage.

New Soulbind ranking is

1place - Dreamweaver Soulbind
2 place - Marileth
3 place - Niya.

so…yeah.

It would be cool if every patch we could join a new convenant. AT the end of the xpac uniting all 4 of them together.

So patch 9.0 one convenant
Patch 9.1 two convenant
9.2 three
9.3 four

Then you can switch between Convenant you joined. Obviously you can’t use both at the same time but you could switch depending on the content you are doing. And you would be able to use the mount and mog of all convenant you joined.

We don’t have a necrolord for our mythic+ group and it would be cool to be able to switch for those keys. Not willing to drop NF mobility for the raid or pvp.

Don’t do that.

Don’t give me hope

Honestly, that compromise would be incredible. Swap to NF, tend to the garden and go to raid, then back to Venthyr for Torghast and to just hang out in Sinfall. Doubt anything is going to change at this point, but it would be cool if it did.

Never going NF, warlocks don’t belong with fairy’s.

I was along this same line of thought until I realized that just because I am associating with fairies doesn’t make me a fairy. In fact, associating with the denizens of any world to increase my own personal power and to bargain for more, I daresay, is the most warlock thing you can ask for. NF abilities allow me to be more powerful and continue being a Warlock, trust me - I don’t hang around the Heart of the Forest for the aesthetics, I am there to claim more power and continue to grow. The player makes the environment they are in better, that choice is up to you.
