Our group of 20 has been together since day 1 of SoD, we have a good mix of 70%-99% parsers. We started as 2 10 mans and combined into 1 20man.
We’ve been doing all the content in the game in a good amount of time as a 20 man all this time.
We’ve spent the last 2 weeks completely stuck on 5/8, this week alone we blew through over 20k gold in Greater holy protection potions just to get to enrage consistently.
But morale is at an all time low, most of us just don’t want to play anymore. We’ve come to terms very few of us will get to 6 set. And even if we do, SoD will be over before we get to enjoy our 6 sets. We are starting to run low on guilds funds, since the phase started we’ve spent over 40k-50k gold in costs the last 3 weeks alone. I personally still have not seen a single drop, other than the 1 free tier piece I got from chalice, which I am holding onto to see what other tier i get first before I turn it in.
We are going to give the raid 1-2 more weeks, if we haven’t seen 20man tuning by then we are just gana call it.
If some of you are having fun that’s great, and all power to you but this has been a draining experience in every way possible. We love SoD, we’ve had a blast, we made a ton of memories and even naxx HM4 was awesome. It’s sad for it to end on a bad note like this, but it was a good run.
If players enjoy the difficulty, all the power to you, but from our perspective this has not been enjoyable. I don’t hate the raid, but it has felt very frustrating from a 20man perspective.
I think it is also worth mentioning people that are not in guilds, who are potentially having an even worse time pugging SE, where all the gear is reserved for the guild, or otherwise.
I am lucky enough to be in a guild i vibe with, but we are also starting to run out of patience with this.
I just feel like for the entirety of SOD we were lead to believe one thing, but SE was made into a bit of a rug pull.
One thing making the raid hard, and the other thing is balancing it like it was on launch.
Idk about other servers but on alli CS almost all pug SE are 30 person 5/8 runs with items HR’ed.
Raiding for 3-4 hours, only clearing 5/8, and not getting any loot 3 lockouts in a row is not going to keep people playing. Per Warcraft logs, the majority of players fall into this group. 30-40 man group hard stuck 5/8 and probably don’t even have 2 pc tier yet.
I am on WG, because i generally can’t stand pvp, especially on classic servers. Because the population is quite a bit lower, especially on the horde side, it feels like we are struggling a bit as a guild, with both the raid and recruiting people.
And yes, I have also not gotten a single item yet, apart from the chalice.
Honestly chalice system is one thing that is keeping me from giving up on SE faster.
It’s kind of starting to feel like the Game of Thrones ending…
Cauldoran progression this week was really fun till we got him to 10% and his 2nd Ashbringer channel with 25 still up and were 40% off the DPS check. That was one of the most disheartening things I’ve had happen in raiding in a log time.
You can’t figure out the difference between the OP and the rest of the whiners? Sure, I’d question whether or not expecting to go 6/8 in 3 weeks is warranted, but that’s not even the point. The difference is that they gave it a legitimate shot. Did all the prep work and didn’t meet their expectations. I wouldn’t even call it a failure. They’re ahead of us, and frankly are in the top % even bothering to do 20 man.
They tried and put in time and effort. Most people here crying are barely trying.
That’s why when the OP says it is difficult it carries heck of a lot more weight than the rest the whiners here.
Most likely (hopefully lol) we’ll be soon in your shoes next lockout. That being said kudos to you folks for actually trying to stay with 20.
The handful of us that are enjoying the progression, at least for me, don’t have players like you in mind when it comes to seeing the current player base as quitters. You guys gave it a legitimate shot. The rest of the player base didn’t even try before they started to cry.
What worked for us a 20man was to hard focus doan as a raid and then split between the other two after killing him. Even then we barely got it with them enraged for about 10-15 sec.
at my end too bud. had to stop raiding with my guild due to how long the raids are, and that CS is 2hrs behind EST, meaning raids would go to like 2am+, to go 5/8. kinda just lost interest as well.
Oh my bad then. Ok, well - it is taking a toll on our guild also. At least, not yet. We have a fairly large chunk of the casuals and having to plug them in to make some raid teams more than the 20 we’ve been running with all phase, ruins the dynamic because the casuals can’t do mechanics, but half the raid can.
Thus our other team is suffering which recently got bumped up over 20.
It doesn’t help that some of our tanks could get away with raid logging and minimal enchants before, but now SE has more of a gear requirement. So they’re getting wrecked now.
Had to stop running with my guildies that I enjoyed playing with due to the time required for the raid, and their start time. Couldn’t find a permanent time that lets me raid consistently due to IRL constraints.
The pugs i’ve joined have been me getting nothing. 0 tier in 4 weeks. 5/8 runs.
I do think the raid needs to be tuned to 20 and hard modes need to be added back. But you’ll get 6 pieces, eventually. Blizz slowed down the loot on this deliberately while they figure out what they want to do with SoD. WBs are very cheap now, thankfully. The trinkets, jewelry, weapons are going to be rough to get for sure.
