Maybe they are playing off spec… So they are rolling for their main spec
They are, indeed. But it is a very effective band-aid that the community would welcome right now.
I’m also down for more and better gear dropping. But also having 3-4 Dinars to spend every season. With the new upgrade system it makes it fair people from M+ or Mythic raiding upgrading their items as well.
Dinars are a way to give M+ players easy access to what they want from raid, while ignoring the problem for raiders that they have to spam the wazoo in M+ to get any gear at all.
They need to fix the actual problem by doubling, tripling, or quadrupling raid drops.
How isn’t this a good way to give access to raiders to items that they haven’t been lucky to get?
I got through Vault without getting a grieftorch, nor did I get it in the Mythic chest of those week events.
As far as I remember, Dinars were added to help raiders overcome Bad RNG and having access to trinkets and weapons from raid. It wasn’t so helpful to Mythic+ because you had to raid to get dinars.
I’m in more favor to having some sort of mix that would also be favorable to M+ players.
Honestly, they should just mail raid loggers a full set of 447 gear. Then the rest of us could actually have a decent game.
This raid launched in may? Going through Oct/ Nov? Average CE guild in 441 ilvl should be able to clear after nerfs? Check.
You should just be locked to roll for the role you’re playing. If healing is your main spec, then heal. Easy.
But having 3x the people roll healer on one fight is not good for the game. It just makes me less willing to play with people I don’t know. Right now, there isn’t even a way to know if someone changed their loot spec for that one fight. Being able to roll differently from boss to boss, pull to pull is indefensibly bad. If we want people to be able to role for a spec they aren’t playing, ok fine, but it should be locked somehow at the start of the raid and it should be readily apparent to everyone what your loot spec is.
i gave up long ago. this random is scam. you need premade raid group or you will be fooled…
I think is fine take my hunter for example I can play SV which use plolearm and 2 handed sowrds and staff when MM and Bm which use bow crossbow and gun. I change spec depending on which boss drops what weapons. So say if a boss is dropping a plolearm and I change to SV people who needs the polearm will complain why I did that IE feral druid, guardian druid and brew monk and ww monks use polearm. See where this is going even if I change to a spec that use that weapon people will complain since I was playing another spec earlier.
Same with rouges and fury warrior. I switch to fury spec so I can roll need on both 1 handed and 2 handed weapons so I can use the 1 handed off spec tank (every fury warrior know you always use 2 handed weapons for more damage). Even though my spec as fury can use both you are still going to have port pally, port warrior, Frost DK complain about it.
Literally couldn’t agree more, I payed some fool 60k when the normal trinket dropped two days ago. He was willing to make the trade, but before that it was extremely disheartening to put so much effort in and not getting it.
Either make trinkets more balanced so I have more options and don’t feel discouraged when I can’t get one, or add some way to make getting the item more likely the longer you work to get it
I don’t have an issue with rolling for items for different specs within the same role. I think that’s very different than DPS rolling on healer or tank specific items.
Welcome to reasons why this raid tier is bad.
You seem like a very petty person.
How about you turn your pettyness to the raid group?
Announce that you are writing down every persons name and if you donʻt get the next heart funneled to you, that you will never heal for anyone on this list ever again.
i just got on my druid.
oh my priest too lol nice
so if i normally heal but my guild asks me to dps that night, i’ll just sit instead? that sounds great for the game
There are easy solutions to this. Declaring a loot spec for the raid when you walk in the instance would be a good option. My issue, realistically, isn’t the scenario you’re positing. It’s when people change, unbeknownst to the rest of the group, on a boss-by-boss basis to roll on every item in the raid they want for any scenario.
If you want to set your loot spec to a healer spec at the start, I don’t really care what you do, but everyone should be able to see that you’re rolling heals for that raid.
This is also a complete non-issue if your guild isn’t full of complete jerks. My guild, for example, wouldn’t care one bit what my loot spec is for anything. If something drops that I have a right, based on what I do for the guild, to be considered for, I’d have a fair shot at it. This happens sometimes when items aren’t on the loot table for certain specs, despite the item being BiS. That happened with a trinket pretty recently IIRC.
I feel like, as much of a bummer as it is, that is just how pugs work. That is how it works in raid and that is how it works in mythic+. I am almost always in shadow spec as a healer in keys in order to get dps trinkets. Sometimes I do this for myself, sometimes for others. I do the same when I run my tank and switch loot spec for dps or heals if I or someone I know is looking for something specific. I do this in pug raids with friends/guildies sometimes too. Biggest protection against losing to someone who won something that you don’t think they desserve is to build your own friend group or roll with a guild.
Some people play more than 1 role on their character. I have “lost,” a roll on the heart many many times and yea it stinks, but it is what it is. I always hope that the person who did win it was happy they won and I usually picture they are because I was super happy when I won the roll on the one I have.
I’ll take my targetable bonus roll over the raid portion of the vault any day
I’ll take my Vault of many options, where I don’t have to farm up currency from WQs and where I get an awesome currency when the Vault doesn’t have something useful, so that I can get gem slots and Crests, while also getting choices from M+, as well.
still trying to get nelth hc trinket and sark cloak.
Thanks lads you did it, it is a legendary item with purple colors.
Not an either or. Your claim makes the falacy of false dichotomy.
