Dwarf looks excellent in mail and plate armor. Get the boots that have that big bulky look and you’re golden!
Night Elf does too though, so it’s your choice. Tall or short?

Between the two, I vote for female Night Elf. I usually view hunters as that of being in the wild, taming beasts and such. Night Elves fit that vision better, in my opinion, and on WoW Classic, I did make a female Night Elf Hunter on my Alliance server because of it.
I think male dwarf would be an excellent choice. I think they look very sturdy, and rugged, but also I just love the personality they put into them. I never get tired of hearing a dwarf laugh. lol
In the end it’s up to you, it’s not like you could go wrong with an NE either…they are fitting for the role too.

Depends on spec for me:
MM - Female night elf with bow and nightsaber pet
BM - Male dwarf with gun and gryphon pet (the gryphon pet does require some Legion Order Hall work though)
Survival - Either, though I’d use a sword mog for the night elf and an axe for the dwarf

Weird way of choosing but imo, male dwarf if using a gun, female night elf if using a bow

RP for me is elves uses bows. Only bows…got a good gun drop. transmog it to bow.

NE for me would get the nod for reasons like shadow meld. Its a nice backup to feign death when that is on CD and you need to disappear again for some reason.
Sucks but the truth hurts unfortunately. My hunter alt is stuck as nightborne because of the heritage armor I decided to grind up.

If you’re picking based on aesthetics only, dwarf. No contest.
If you plan on running m+ though, shadowmeld is awesome.
