Even in it’s own description, the city was constructed close to where the Well Of Eternity used to be. The Maelstrom is sort of the remains of the Well after it exploded. By all accounts, the original Zin-Azshari was situated very close, if not right on top of, the Well. So how the hell is it as far away from the Maelstrom as it is? Also, the Well Of Eternity when we a saw it in game in a dungeon, was nowhere as big as it should have been. It has been described as so vast, that you if you stood at one end, you couldn’t see the other. It’s actually smaller than the Maelstrom is depicted in game.
I’d chock that up mostly to game limitation most small areas like goldshire are much bigger in the lore than in game. The Nazjatar location problem could also be that it is near the maelstrom its just easier the put the map on kul tiras and zandalar
The place doesn’t even show up on the world map. It appears in the corner of the Kultiras/zanda map.
I don’t think these maps are showing you the real location of the place.
Zin Azshari extends from Azshara’s Palace in the Maelstrom to southeastern part of Azshara near the northern gates of Orgrimmar.
We are at the western side of Zin Azshari(closer to the sunken outskirts in southeast Azshara I would assume) it seems. Between Orgrimmar and the Maelstrom specifically.
The center of Zin Azshari is obviously beyond the water wall surrounding the core of the Maelstrom.
I mean the zone dosent really feel like the naga Capitol juet some random place thry are just now invading
Suramar alone expanded over nearly the entire zone we play in Legion before the Sundering.
Zin-Aszshari was the jewel of the Elven Empire, its scope should dwarf any major city we’ve seen represented in game, and even in game we can tell there is more of the city than we can access.
Also remember the Sundering massively pushed things away from the Maelstrom.
Honestly, as much as the zone’s called Nazjatar, I don’t think it’s actually Nazjatar. It’s not a city, let alone a capital city. It’s clearly not under the Maelstrom. This zone might be near Nazjatar, but it sure ain’t no Nazjatar.
It’s like the suburbs of Nazjatar.
Yes this is exactly what i feel
The Naga buildings are fancier than any other Naga building we’ve seen. Come to think of it before Rise of Azshara we’ve never seen Naga buildings aside from the inferior pavilions and Coilfang Reservoir.
Just to note: https://www.polygon.com/2019/7/1/20677938/world-of-warcraft-eternal-palace-raid-entrance-queen-azshara-rise-of-patch-8-2
The route to the Eternal Palace looks more like a capital city than the rest of Nazjatar which looks like the outer gate of the city. Furthermore this is all underwater unlike the area we land in. Azshara did not deprive the Naga of advantage they’d get from fighting on their home turf with the Tidestone like we assumed she merely dropped us into a place close to the home turf which still has the advantage.
Of course Azshara makes sure her Naga don’t attack us once we are in the city proper and allows us into the Eternal Palace which to be honest never had the advantage the rest of Nazjatar had as the Cutscene shows.
To me it should have been like surumar a large city to show off their grandeur
Yeah, looking at that we’re definitely in the Nazjatar suburbs.
truly Blizzard should have made the route take longer! The video makes it look like Azshara shoved the Eternal Palace at the front of the City.
Of course Suramar also has the Nighthold and Temple of Elune/Tomb of Sargeras at one end of the Central City so no surprise that Nazjatar did the same thing with the Eternal Palace.
I think it’s clear that the Temple of Elune was meant to be Suramar’s main entrance just as the Gate of the Queen serves as Nazjatar’s.
cause its not nazjatar lol its just broken underwater zone. you see any palaces and stuff? its looks like some random place cause it really wasnt nazjatar after all and tyrande wouldve known if she was there so they put jaina in. le plot twist son
Keep in mind Zin-Azshari was a MASSIVE city, and lorewise the Well of Eternity was a LOT larger than what we saw in the Caverns of Time. It was practically a large lake it was so large, where the other major city (Galhara) of their empire was on the otherside of the Well.
“hOw DiD nObOdY fiND mEChaGon? It’S RiGhT tHEre!!”
For Light’s sake people in game scale isnt suppose to represent canon scale.
Im kind of annoyed over the scale of Nazjatar. The area that was Zin Azshari is so small and I was hoping that we’d get a glimpse at tube site of where the Well used to be.
I mean we only see a small part of the ruins of Xin Azshari, as if you get near the water wall you can see it keeps on going into the waters.
As for Nazjatar itself… I have concluded we are not in Nazjatar proper. It is more like the outskirts. Nazjatar proper is still under water, surrounding the eternal palace. The terraces in the NW corner of the map seem like the furthest extents of the naga city itself, with the gate of the queen serving as sort of the main gates for the city proper.
To be fair, the Broken Isles used to be more or less around the Maelstrom, but after the Cataclym, they’re now half an ocean away.
I assume Naz’jatar is a similar situation.
True, I just wish we’re saw more. I mean it’s Zin Azshari! I kind of expected more I also expected the Eternal Palace to be near where it the city once stood. Or at least more NE ruins near tube Queen’s Apporach, I’m assuming that’s where her palace is.
If Vashj’ir and the outskirts of Nazjatar can be Zones I don’t see why we can’t one day have Zin Azshari be a Zone!
The part we’ve seen of Zin Azshari focuses on the Highborne Estates and the pasts of Thalyssra and Shandris.
