Nathanos just went down to level 40s

Remember…that the 1.12 data is being fed through current retail server code. That’s 7 expansions full of code changes…multipliers, algorithms, etc.

I think easy is a loaded term, just like hard or difficult is. I’ve said Vanilla was easy before. I think straight forward is a better term.

While Nate was a raid boss he was only hard because we horde would defend him

If we get some level 45s clearing BRD I will know something is wrong and I don’t care how many retail trolls say it was always like that.

reading comments on wowhead…it took a few 70’s to down him in BC…2-3.
Seems like by wrath one could solo him.

Yet here we have classic and level 40’s are downing him ?

You can’t have millions of bad players for multiple expansions as your explanation. You really are not that much better today.

There were 2 raids, no?

It’s not like a party downed him.

Not too mention, there are some good hunters. I haven’t seen a crazy feat without at least one.

Go read the wowhead comments. Even level 70’s went down…mostly because of all the skeletons that spawn.

When people do stuff on pservers the cry is “They got the data all wrong”

when people do stuff in this classic beta the cry is “Well we’re just that good today”

How many of level 70’s clicked and keyboard turned?

How many of those folks during the current raid that did that?

WOW was an easy game by my standards coming from ff11. I Think too many of you, it was your first MMO,

I don’t know. Do tell how many 70’s clicked ?

You think 6-7 million players didn’t know how to play ?

You dismiss it too easily IMO. Too many changes occurred over the years …all nerfs and it’s possible some of those nerfs weren’t removed for classic.

Back then compared to now? Probably not many. As meaning less clickers and turners now. I worded that badly, sorry.

Just my worthless opinion. Not trying to start an argument or anything.

I doubt I play much different than I did in 2006. What would I be better at?

I don’t think we got much better…our classes did. We all have CCs, self-healing, burst DPS, etc. It’s hard to die now with all of our newer abilities.

Member when people said the real game was nothing like pservers and pservers made things really easy?

I have no idea what people imagine when they make those claims, but their imaginations do tend to run wild. Apparently, in mid-2000s gamers didn’t know how to do keybinding or mouse movement. They didn’t know how to access community forums, guides, or videos (youtube launched and grew nearly simultaneously with wow) and coders were terrible back then so they didn’t know how to make a good addon or even whether addons existed. If they did exist, they certainly couldn’t do as much as they did back then.

In reality, only kids played the game rather than those of us who were 30 and had been gaming during the entire rise of gaming industry. We weren’t the RPG players who were coming out of a long stint of playing a relatively obscure genre in causal gaming–RTS; it was the kids, not the adults, buying the game and monthly subs. High schoolers bought gold and accounts, not their parents. They bought it with their lunch money and paper routes, per the usual.

Now a player simply downloads twitch, which in turns auto installs DBM, which in turn auto alerts the player to any and all, real or imagined, dangers so the player can simply relax on a well-earned journey. It’s not unlike calculators in grade school–where the teacher requires everyone to hand-write all calculations and sums to ensure you know what you’re doing. Once you get to the high school, however, calculators are required–not because you’re a worse student but because you’ve already demonstrated that you can do the work.

And there you have it: players are simply collectively better

Yes, EIGHTY “level 40s” killed him. That’s a lot, if you weren’t aware.

Have you forgotten the tons of times people have done level 1 Hogger raids? This is not much different.

Actually vanilla addons and macros can do a LOT compared to retail. Like, make decisions based on what buffs you have / don’t have. All sorts of conditional statements are possible, leading to 1-button macros for most classes.

The fact that you say something like this shows that you have literally no idea what you’re talking about.

Please leave.

Please enlighten us. Everything runs through retail now. Blizzard confirmed as much.

Still moving those goalposts I see. Every other thing that you claimed “had to be wrong” turned out to be correct, so now you’re onto BRD. I wonder what will be next?

You have to read the entire post in jest or with tongue firmly planted in cheek to get the right takeaway.
