I have an officer that is typing in guild chat. Her name is not displaying just [ ] and you can not see her messages unless you open the guild stuff with J. Multiple people ca not see her as well. Is there a bug in guild?

This is indeed a guild bug that can happen sometimes. The WoW team is working on investigating the cause so they can get it resolved.
If you want to have your officer submit a ticket from their account describing the issue (make sure they include character name and realm) a Game Master may be able to help refresh the character and guild. That will usually clear it up in the meantime.
