Notable bands from the Blizzcons I’ve been to:

  • Blink-182 (which was an absolute travesty, but it caused the standard Blizzard overcorrection which netted us the next one the very next year)
  • Metallica
  • Weird Al
  • Linkin Park
  • Muse

Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath. I’m surprised no one mentioned this yet.

I watched this one on livestream, it was great. Every time Ozzy screamed “Put your ****ing hands in the air!” I thought I was getting mugged.

Edit: the crowd sucked though as usual and it seemed like Ozzy was trying to get them to move at least a little.

I saw them live in 1998 at Poinfest 9 in St. Louis.

Their Blizzcon performance was absolutely horrendous, and I’m saying this as someone who enjoys Blink 182. They just weren’t themselves at Blizzcon and it was painfully obvious.

Cannibal Corpse should have played at Blizzcon. Their lead singer brings real energy and was a real fan of the game, he actually cared about the game unlike these other random bands they brought in to play. That guy knew what’s up.
