As much as I get that this is a Troll post, I will bite. I can agree to it being a possibility but a) they would have to be Horde only, b) They would need to be part of the group we ally with as Demon Hunters in Legion the Coilskar tribe .
That being said one would need to somehow be exa lted with the Illidari as the only friendly Naga outside of the odd outlier quest givers come from said faction. Perhaps have some questing to become exalted with Lady S’theno as a means to unlock the race.

Its not actually. I am serious about it except for the smidgen about Alliance getting them because they are High Elves (although they are).

Sorry it reads like a Troll post in my eyes, either way I gave you a idea as to how I could see it justified in keeping with the current game. But to be more accurate Naga came about before the Highborne became High Elves. They would be closer to being Night Elves than High Elves as there were no High Elves (in the sense of High elves being Blood Elves) at the time of their creation

Probably reads like that because I was accused of many things on the old forums including being too serious and argumentative so I am trying to lighten up a bit as part of a clean slate for my new forums campaign. Its not working out well for me though because now I keep getting accused of trolling (you are not the first). sigh

Thanks for the lesson on the Highborne. I have come to the warcraft universe pretty late lore-wise so a lot of it confuses me. Since I have a toon of each elf race I suppose I should study their background a bit more.

I know Naga have been on a lot of people’s lists long before Allied Races were a thing and I have a slight bit of hope that the Naga-like race being introduced in 8.2 might be in consideration as an AR. /shrug

We’ll see.

  1. They are not Undead. 2. They were not High Elves, they were Highborne, which was just a different social class of Night Elves. 3. They shouldn’t be an allied race because even though Blizzard said allied races aren’t subraces let’s not kid ourselves. They are, and that’s a good thing. The more special races should be reserved to get their own time in the spotlight.

Make it work like it already does for draenei, tauren, and trolls: It simply doesn’t show up on their model. If you need an in-universe explanation for how they get the effects of the boots without wearing them… stop asking questions. It’s magic, I don’t have to explain everything!

And while I’m at it:

How would they ride mounts?

Either side-saddle or with their tail laid out in front of them.

How would they wear pants?

The texture is applied to their tail. In-universe, they refashion pants into a sort of sock.

What would their racial mount be?

A crab. I would say a turtle, but pandaren already have that.

What about classes?

Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, and Warrior. Maybe Warlock, if only because the naga have worked with demons/Demon Hunters before.

Racials?

I don’t have a full list, but:

  1. Indefinite breath underwater, and increased swim speed. This one is obvious.
  2. Frost resistance. Again, obvious, given Frost is tied to water.
  3. Naga are able to shed their skin; so you could reduce the duration of damage over time effects on them, or maybe give them an active ability that lets them remove up to two damage over time effects on themselves.

Just going to toss this out there but being as this is a fantasy game why do races all need to be bipedal, or dual gendered or anything that is not ultimately a different flavor of Human? I mean I want to see Ogres as part of the Horde (as they have been based on the games lore since the rts games) who cares if there are zero female models, why do they need them? I feel the same about legs and Naga, Have hem ride side saddle and make the boots gear slot be a bit of tail armor or some such. I mean they have gear that on males is full shirt but a bikini top on females the tech is there to make boots do something different on Naga.

I agree with you. I am not sure why all races have to be a human variation. Given some of the extreme reactions on the forum previously on a somewhat related topic, I think there is some trepidation.
