Hmmm. Was thinking about applying but the idea of a bunch of GL/Officers using their will to power to dictate who gets gear is a huge turn off. That is one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth back in classic. Raiding for a month without getting gear because the council tosses loot out to a** kissers and buddies is no fun.
Valid point for sure. This is something we actually discussed in detail about and had long conversations over. Itās a very important subject for sure. Loot is very valuable in classic right? I get it. In the post Iām sure you read the reasonings behind our decision. Loot council is the only real way to handle the so sought after loot. We understand as leaders of the guild how to run a business and we will be handling the guild and loot as such. Which means if you work your a** off in the guild and put fourth the effort for yourself and the guild you will be rewarded. The same way bonuses or promotions are handed out at your job in a real life environment. I myself was in a guild like what you mentioned, and Iām with you, itās no fun. I appreciate the criticism because I want to hear peopleās opinions on guild related issues. Maybe we missed something that we were not thinking of and it could help change a decision for the better, for the guild. Thatās the type of guild we are and how we operate. I am not sure the name of the system we ended up with in vanilla, we tried a few. The one we ended up with gave points per hr raided and for boss kills. Loot cost all of your points when you bought an item, no matter the item or your point total. If you had 100 it cost 100, if you had 10 it cost 10. It ended up working well for us. Everyone hoarded points until the bought something then they bought everything that dropped.
Worked well for us but then again ymmv.
I am willing to try whatever system as it will be a self correcting problem.
