Mythic Track Gear Source Availability

So everything up through hero track has some way of farming it. And I get the idea of kind of throttling mythic track gear at the beginning of a season, especially with concerns to world first.

However, there really is very few options for non-mythic raiders for achieving mythic gear beyond getting lucky with the vault (for dungeon runners).

I was thinking maybe there should be some type of mechanism that can convert a hero tracked item to a mythic tracked item later in the season (maybe when hall of fame fills or a month or two of the season goes by). Maybe this token is like a catalyst charge, where the number is gained slowly over time and it costs you gilded token to buy.

For example, if you have a hero 6/6 item, you can convert it to 3/6 mythic costing a token + 45 (?) gilded, basically some sort of excess to the normal 15 to switch tracks. Or maybe it can go to 1/6 mythic and cost 15 + the gated token or so and you would just pay the valor to bump it back up to 2/6 and then player decides where to go normally from there.

Anyway, I just think restricting mythic track to mythic raids as the season progresses becomes less and less meaningful, anyway. I’m sure others may have some ideas or maybe don’t like the idea at all, but just tossing this out there for some feedback.

Sounds like a good idea. Reality is most people will not progress Mythic raid and so yes, Vault appears to be the only hope for Myth track. — But if technically it is possible to clear Myth raid at 625/626 ilevel (this is unlikely for most, but World First raids were average 625 from what I saw), then there may be an argument that there is no real need for Myth track gear for most players, other than to feel a sense of personal accomplishment or whatever. Not sure how gear score impacts M+ at the upper tiers (most 3k+ are probably over 630 due to crafted and myth raid).

I could see Hero becoming Myth for a “fair price,” like 45 gilded crests or whatever. :man_shrugging:

What exactly do you think the option is for mythic raiders, for achieving mythic gear?

You craft it.

That’s all there is.

Same as everybody else.

Most mythic raiders’ gear, for most of the season, comes from M+ or crafting.

I wouldn’t be opposed to using a nascent crest to upgrade a hero item to a myth item, provided you’ve got sufficient rating for m+ / killed the boss that drops that item on mythic.

The game does need an extra way of getting myth track items. Waiting for 1 per week in the vaut (and sometimes getting nothing) is just not interesting.

You can also do the raid on Mythic difficulty… and also get nothing. :joy:

Yeah, I don’t mind about this. They also need to do something about a ‘dead upgrade’ aka 619 to 623, on hero track gears. 625 is not even good enough for +10 unless you push your key to +10.

I think running Mythic 10 for vault is already a really easy way to get the best gear in the game, so I don’t think we should make it easier. The only thing I wish that existed was some sort of catch up mechanic for people like me who decide to switch mains halfway through the season.
That decision always comes with some sort of knowledge that your new main’s gear ceiling is lower than your original one.

Mythic track is meant to be scarce as it’s made to be a season-long progression not something that can be done in a few weeks like hero track.

While this is one of the better ideas I seen…Why is everyone suddenly wanting access to myth track gear that is NOT through the typical means?

Why? It makes mythic track gear >more< meaningful.

And you can still get the mythic raid appearances with heroic track gear, which is truly all that matters in the end. :dracthyr_nod:

I get accepted into +10 at 625. Not automatically or quickly sometimes, but I’m able to do okay.

Getting one upgrade a week doesn’t feel too bad imo. It does start to feel awful if your vault has no upgrades or if you miss a week/start an alt/are a returning player and I think that needs to be looked into.

We have crafted armor, that’s already the middle ground for not being able to farm mythic gear outside of mythic raids.

Seriously, do people just not use crafted gear?

I’m 6/8 Mythic so far, ilvl 632, and only TWO pieces of gear I have come from Mythic raid (and one of those was from great vault).

Mythic raiding is not this cornucopia of loot that people make it out to be.

Meanwhile, I have 5 pieces of crafted gear. And should probably craft a neck, too…

Oh boy, “more meaningful” for five months before the treadmill restarts again and again.

I am ALL in favor of this if it keeps M+ out of delves and the Devs away from the nerf bat.
