I call myself a “serious casual”. I try to know my classes and content pretty well, but I am not pushing the envelope of the game.
My top geared toons in s3 hit 2.5k ratings and are in 482/483 gear. I was doing 19s on these toons.
i have 6 other toons that each hit 2k rating. they are in ~470-473 gear. they were running 13-15s.
that was as high as I pushed in 2s. these ratings put my toons in the top third of players.
so that is where we are starting out now. It is a new season. you have to gear up again for the new content.
I think blizz has done a good job of setting us up for success in s4.
first: the timewalking gives you a 493 piece. big upgrade for most.
heroics drop 476 and m2 drops 496.
most of us are going to have to spend time in the heroic, m0, and m2 space for a while before climbing.
but you are going to see a bigger difference between 2 and 3 than we saw between 12 and 13 last season.
but also, there are no timers until m10 (former +20). that means you will get your full crest and stone rewards for completion not timing.
y’all just aren’t going to be in 512 ilevel gear day 1.
An m0 of this season isn’t equal to a +10 of last season though. They changed the dungeon scaling so that m0 of this season would be an m10 of this season prior to their change.
The m0s of this season are supposed to be harder than +10s of last season.
Baradkas, low to mid keys (Season 3 +2 to +15) were PUG-friendly. I hope Blizzard keeps that in mind; PUGs is how most of us play, because we don’t have a dedicated group of on-line buddies to run Mythics.
i also think they updated the current dungeon pool such that actual kicks are less useful and we need more actual aoe interrupts.
You had overgeared people carrying you at the end of the season. Now everyone is undergeared.

You should read your own words and consider if Season 4 M0 is supposed to be M10 of Season 3, then they should be scaled to equal level, not tougher.
I hear you. that is space I mostly played in myself, but in this season, that would mean that +2-+5 is where the “pug friendly” space will be. a nd in that space, we are going to be able to get 502 gear upgradable to 515.
for people now in the 470-480 ilevel range (the “serious casual” space - in my terms), this will be a big gear upgrade.
and with only 2 affixes and no timers.
that feels pug friendly to me.
I think farming some heroic dungeons will help.
But they ALSO scaled item level up. So think of it as item tracks. If you’re in 480 gear from season 3, that’s Hero/Myth track. But now that’s Champion Track gear. So M10 → M0, but also item level 486 is going from top mythic → Normal Raid gear.
You should reread my words because I explicitly said that s4 m0 is NOT supposed to be equal to s3m10. S4m0 is what s4m10 would be if they didnt do the adjustment.

My group had 0 issue last night doing a +2 Academy. No damage going out was that crazy either.
You should go read the patch notes so you have some semblence of an idea to base your arguements off of.
M0 in S4 = m11 in S3

what the heck did you guys do… nobody is doing 0’s everyone is doing +2 and up… and the tuning is aweful!!!.. … academy is hard a heck!!! but hall are easy peasy …?? same +2…

Yeah exactly - stated another way:
S4 12-15s were easy because everyone was in Heroic/Myth Track Gear at 480-ish
M0 (read as m11) seems harder because everyone’s in LFR/Normal track gear (which is still 480-ish)
Running Heroics and M0 in my opinion are useless. Heroics are still on daily lockout and award veteran track gear. M0 are weekly lockout. Not going to waste my time in Heroics to get veteran track gear that I need to turn around and refarm BIS to get on the champion track. Do a M0 world tour and get 1 piece of gear and are now stuck waiting till next week. If Heroic and M0 are supposed to be the new starting tracks to get people into M+ keys then remove the stupid timegated lockouts and let us run the dungeons to get the gear we need to push into M+.

Scaling wise similar to a +12, but there is also the gear reset. So it’s like doing a +12 last season in like 440-450 gear ( everyone in the group, not one person carried by a few 485s).
Season 3 dungeons were overall pretty easy, it was one of the easiest seasons ever.
?? Its always been one of the easier ones. And still is from my experience. Even let a 450 tag along in my AA run last night with no issues.
