If this is a perception versus reality sort of thing, then it can be made clear that this isnât going to be like LFD or LFR. It should be designed as an extension to the way M+ already works, and it should be made clear that players are signing on for something that requires demonstration of skill by means of the new Mythic+ score. That could be done by separating things out by brackets or simply not making it a facsimile of the way current queued content works. This argument that people are going to complain and get content nerfed just because groups are formed automatically does not make sense to me. If M+ is only being kept at its current difficulty by dint of the fact that you have to slog through a listing of dungeons when an automated system would make much quicker work of the process and achieve the same result, that suggests to me a bad design philosophy.
If a tank or a healer is listing his/her own key, they still have to go through the process of selecting players and micromanaging, which not everyone wants to do. Most players are going to choose the path of least resistance, and if a tank or healer can get into a group instantaneously regardless of the method employed, whoâs to say they wonât go with the queue, especially if most DPS are using the new system because of the greater ease of getting into groups?
As for the reset of scores: This sorts itself out over time. After several seasons, there is a leveling out and the metrics can be employed properly. How did players get to the point they are now before IO was adopted by the community? Initially youâll have to put up with skill differentials until the players are stratified sufficiently by skill. There could be limits on score differential when queuing with 2+ players to prevent cheesing the system, and if those players wanted to try to play together, theyâd still have the option to manually list their key or apply for keys.
There are unintended consequences, but they can be anticipated and worked around and finessed after the system has been employed. This to me does not bespeak a reason for not trying it.
Well, they really shouldnât be downgrading unless on purpose anyway. If even one group had a good experience with the queue, that would be 5 less people asking for it. That is, since that seems to be a concern of yours.
As for dev time, we could give these guys all the time in the world and theyâd still be getting lapped by every comparable company when it comes to content cadance
Should be? OK. But Blizz wonât do it and people are unlikely to all of a sudden change how theyâve always responded to difficult queued content. Itâs one thing to be idealistic, but I think youâve passed that and gone into naive.
Just going from history. Remember that quote about being doomed to repeat it?
Why risk a more difficult run than you need to if thereâs no time advantage?
The DPS who are comfortable using LFG with stay there and benefit from less competition for premade spots.
if you honestly think this will be no different then youâre just too blinded to your narrow idea. Anything that has a autoqueue auto grouping done by algorithm will never be good. Especially something like wow where thereâs just too much variants. It work on games like LoL or Dota because you can choose your class after the queues. Where wow youâre character is your character before and after the queue starts
I can buy a run from some1. Be completely useless and have a high score. We all know rio score can be bought. Thereâs a reason why we try teach people how to look at rio and use it to your advantage. Can you tell me a machine that can actually read this? If you can create 1 then Iâm on your side.
Letâs be clear here. Itâs not about choosing the path of least resistance. Itâs about getting carried. You dont want to learn how the fight/dungeon mechanics and expect someone else to do the heavy lifting for you.
technically you can still time those 15s. For +15 and lower keys itâs about the player not the class. Which letâs face it thread like these are a ceasepool of bad players.
Yes you will lmao. 15s are not hard. You could have the entire group go AFK for a few minutes and still two chest all of these dungeons at this point regardless of what classes you have. Just because you canât perform on your fotm spec in dungeons doesnât mean that non meta specs canât time a 15.
But do you really expect a bunch of random people with 1.3k IO queued in on all their off-meta specs to be able to time a 15 without Bloodlust or a Battle Rez?
Thatâs the big reason why matchmaking would be utter trash if players had no control over it: the one group could have VDH/HPal/Fire Mage/Boomkin/something else and the other could just get a bunch of crappy specs that have no synergy or utility. Suddenly that 15 is a lot harder for one group than the other.
