LMAO so true
I hate these posts with a fiery passion
Except to a lot of people, it’s more about getting to either 6s, 7, or 10s as quickly as possible, and chain farming as many of those as you can for gear. By far the most common bracket for keys to be run last season was 7-10s, which were the dungeons that drop hero track gear on no lockout, as well as gilded crests on 8+.
I’ve been playing through bolstering, sanguine, overflowing, inspiring, etc. TWW S1 was easily the worst M+ season in history, and even Blizzard knew it was that bad. Pretty much all nerfs are warranted but they miss some things like Darkcleft’s Koholds throw rock, Priory’s hunters dots and too many casts in the end area, architects in Floodgate, Rookery 2nd boss abilities and casters packs and more.
Yes, the season with nothing to distract you with how lazy pure scaling is is obviously the worst season ever.
Making it easier to get 10’s is a good thing for everyone. Progression still exists in the form of higher keys. I think this is a solid change.
For a lot of players in M+ however, they don’t care about that.
They only care about getting the gear from it, which is why about 90% of the people who reach +10 don’t even try to go any higher.
i just want to go on record as saying that not all of us who do m+ asked for this. we don’t all want a loot piñata. a few of the more targeted changes make sense but most of this seems unnecessary for most players.
Which all feeds back to the central problem - the overwhelming majority of WoW players don’t actually want to do M+. They just want the free gear.
“you can keep climbing until you find challenge” Give me a break.

we don’t all want a loot piñata
Unfortunatly, those that do want the loot pinata are the much louder voice in the room.

I’ve been playing through bolstering, sanguine, overflowing, inspiring, etc. TWW S1 was easily the worst M+ season in history, and even Blizzard knew it was that bad.
Remember Blizzard’s grand pronouncement before TWW launched, that M+ would actually have a challenge level to justify its gear reward?
Yeah, that didn’t last long. The flood of M+ tears will overwhelm any game design concerns, every time.
M+ players don’t want to be challenged, they just want their welfare loot.

welfare loot
Deal with it. No need to be condescending. It’s a very good change that the vast majority of players are happy with. Sorry we disagree. If it’s so easy, why don’t you do them?
Just do higher keys if you want to flex. The challenge exists. Now the gear to meet that challenge is easier to acquire,

Just do higher keys if you want to flex.
Brewa doesn’t want to be doing keys at all. But because the raid drop rates (for both loot and crests) are anemic compared to the infinite fountain that is M+, he’s forced to in order to stay relevant in the content he actually wants to be doing.

M+ players don’t want to be challenged, they just want their welfare loot.
Hp sponges and one shots in an m0? Like let’s find some common ground here. It’s either one extreme or another
This I agree with, and it needs to be looked at. I’m not sure what the answer is.

“the season is too long I have nothing to do”
Always amusing to see people consume content like a maniac then make a post asking are the season too long.
Peak smoothbrain behavior.
The answer is pretty easy, equalize the drop rates between the 2.
So you can only loot each dungeon once per week on a given upgrade track, and raid drops 2x as many items.
this only hurts low level raiding even more by forcing people into m+.
GL finding a normal undermine pug unless you’re in maxed champion gear by next week.
Like hero raid > 5-2 > normal raid is a valid progression for players, they should be running m0 and normal raid if m2 is too difficult. Now with nerfs everyone is going to outgear normal raids, normal raids are going to fall over (for the playerbase it is meant for) then they’re going to step into hero raids, get wrecked, and have nothing left to play.
At least pushing low keys / normal raids in last season hero gear was possible / offered the need to make improvements between pulls.
We probably won’t see the highest scores ever, remember people were almost 10000 in BFA post season 4
Also, we saw the new high key scaling last week. Even scrub me could do 15s at 610 ilvl but the best in the world did 17s and 18s (nobody did 20), the keys scale very quickly as you get up there
M+ is cool because there are many “world firsts” and doing a new key level higher than ever done before is almost always a huge achievement. This will be even moreso the case with the new scaling

This is also with full S1 gear and being 39 ilvls below max.
What a joke.
Hes actually completely exaggerating. The top players in the world are at like 2600 in full heroic gear. They’re basically doing 10s. That’s the best players in the world.
